Thoughts on the new AF1 upgrades?

From what i hear you can't convert the other seals/crests into the new Sacred Kindred Crests you need, essentially making this a dead event until enough people farm the new Crests.

I pray to all divinities that this is an oversight...
Because that's just as BS as the requirement to forge a mythic allowing 99 Mythics be turned into 119 Mythics.
We can trade all other seals for any of any...

This needs to be patched... because I don't feel like burning all my login pts in campaign 5 on these new seals...
They are stupid expensive. 100pt/S.Kindred Seal...
That's 2000pt just for a single pop... >_>

This needs to be fixed... I got so many crappy low level seals and crests.... Why do I have 452 kindred seals? BECAUSE I NEVER USED THEM!
Before that one campaign a bit ago... I was gonna use them for utsusemi ni and phalanx farming...
Now I had planned on AF upgrade farming....
But if I can't trade them...........

Some items are good, some are bad. There are many sidegrade gear and direct upgrades. This is a step towards the old model people wanted to have back, so now you have progress towards that in XI. I think its a good thing and I liked most AF1 looks anyway (BLU!)

I'm totally happy with this, the new AF is great for letting players look like the jobs they play instead of the ugly and generic skirmish/delve gear that ruined job identity from a visual standpoint.

I'll say. I went to a Wildkeeper Reive last week and everyone there was draped in identical red crap.

Remember when everyone and I mean everyone was in either blue, pink or white from Abyssea. The Red gear is good with stats, but nothing really to boost a particular job. Some pieces have job related stats, but its not like the af v1,2,3 which is geared to your job. It is all situational gear, pick what helps the job. Your wardrobe has just gotten bigger, I'll be happier can't tell a whm from a rdm from a blm from a smn from a blu.
