The game is tied to your account, not your UPC (i.e. proof of purchase). All you have to do is find a PC copy of the game and the installed expansions (RotZ, CoP, ToAU, WotG) and you're set. Just log into POL like normal and the game will download the addon files with the rest of the updates.

10 years ago Squaresoft was great. 10 years ago Hironobu Sakaguchi left Squaresoft. 10 years ago Square's profits were at an all time high. In the last 10 years their profits have done nothing but decline. Coincidence, I think not. Do yourself and the fans a favor SE, bring back Sakaguchi. Bring back the awesome you once had.

Even on consoles, you only need the disc to install the data, so borrowing the discs from another player works. Only the Xbox 360 needs you to keep the game disc as the system needs the disc to launch the game. PS2 and PC run the game completely without the disc after installation.

The only reason to buy a PC or PS2 disc is for the registration code to make a new account or to unlock expansions you don't have on your account yet.
