Beastmaster: Pet + Skillchain = Yes, Please!!

Yeah, it would be nice if they'd do that. Probably the easiest way to implement it would be to make it a JA exactly like Chain Affinity, cooldowns/duration and all. Except of course instead of landing a physical BLU spell on top of a normal WS, you pop "Pet Affinity" or whatever and use the WS after your pet's TP move.

Bst should be allowed to SC with their pet
Players can skillchain with adventuring Fellows
Blues can solo SC

Only makes sense to allow bst to skillchain with their pets. SMN and PUP are much different than in almost all ways other than they are all pet classes.
When a Bst Zones they lose pets
PUPs can almost or most time OUT NUKE Blms
SMs summons hit alot harder than bst pets. Now it can be argued that a SMN would also die much faster if their target went to attack them instead of their pet.

Its not like Bst sc with Pets would be mindless either seeing how each pet has its own moves, and it wouldnt be harder to program seeing how SE could just build off the ideal of BLUEmage Self SCs.

I personally am a fan of being able to SC with pets. I read alot of well smn can do this and pup can do that but I find bst could be worse off then it is. Drg is nice melee job one of my favorites but with all the aoe's the pet it just for looks. I solo'd drg to 75 and couldn't have had a better companion in my adventures but the reality for me is I can solo what I want way easier on bst. Wyverns can't be apart of a sc unless you close the sc and they get lucky enough to pick the right breath to MB which even then is pretty lame. All pets are not created equally or function on the same level. Would I love to skill chain with my pet hell ya. I am satisfied with what bst has as is yes. I'll hope and pray bst gets more but I won't be upset if we are looked over as their are lamer pets out there.

wyverns can take part in skill chains via magic bursts. I dont see a reason why pet TP moves shouldnt chain with everyone not just the beastmaster. It encourages more intelligent play, wich is kinda wat bsts like best about bst anyway. Its a smarter job.

I've played a lot of FFXI, but I never played BST because of the stigma that it had. I started playing a couple weeks ago when i came back and I <3 BST. I feel bad that I didn't play it earlier. The first thing I didn't understand was why you couldn't do this.

I was like SMN, BLU, DRG... WTF? Really no SC involvement?

I'm going BST/DNC and if I could use my TP for tanking and heals while using my Pet's TP to SC I would be very happy.

one other thing, if a pet's special ability is the same as a blue spell that is needed to proc grello !! and you do land it under all of the proper conditions it really should count. I only mention this for going forward if the !! concept is continued into the 90-99 content.

How do you know it doesn't already work?

Of the blue spells that target yellow, only 1000 Needles, Death ray, and Frost breath are done by charm-able mobs. Only 1000 needles is done by a jug. It probably won't work to proc, as the blue spell functions very differently, but it might be fun to see if it works though. I only have 1x Sun Water that I've strangely been holding onto since before the level cap increase. Maybe I'll use it to see if it will work for proc'ing yellow. I think it would be almost completely useless, but still very satisfying if it did.

Lol, actually It would be very satisfying to use on Cuijatender or Emperador de Altepa w/ 100% -pdt set... even though 20 minutes is a rediculous short time. This jug got hit w/ the nerfbat pretty hard too.

I always wanted PET skill chains, but it should only be jug pets.
SMN can do it, why not us?

I have been asking the same question for years, BST + Pets are the perfect jobs for skillchains, SMN has been able to do this from day one and so has PUP, I can solo skillchain 7+k Light with My PUP in Abyssea (RNG frame) I would love to be able to do 30% of that damage with my pet.

I feel from looking at the Jobs from day one and 1st release BST was never considered or able to skillcahin with pets so this would require a massive amount of work to complete, but you never know we still have 9 more levels to go so SE could be saving it for a 99 BST to savor and look forward to, who knows
