How can a new player get an empyrean weapon nowadays?

Making the weapon and getting it to 90 isn't the problem.

Getting it to 95/99 however... even if you have the gil, there is a serious supply problem. And given the drop rate for the the upgrade items AND the extremely limited mobs that drop them, it's not something you can just go out and farm on your own or even with a small group.

HMP need to be added to solo/duo content or the lights system needs adjusting. Not that VW isn't easy these days with 2-3 people, but the lights system kinda clamps down on any meaningful attempt to gather them in your spare time or with a friend. Alex and currency are both obtained via solo/low man content, allowing you to work on them in your spare time, when nothing else is going on. HMP requires you to take specific combinations of jobs, significantly lowering the speed of forming these parties.

Allowing /fume to be used once per minute so we can do this (Now, easy and mostly irrelevant) content, without being screwed over by a stupid gimmick that does nothing but lengthen the time required to form a party would be a great start.

One adjustment they could make to VW would be to expand the number of current weaknesses. If it's currently 1 EV, 2 HV, and 6 V, then maybe doubling that to 2 EV, 4 HV, and 12 V (or something similar) would rekindle interest by making things far more low-mannable than before.

Yep, we can't have changes to a flawed system, because another flawed system exists. Sounds legit.
