So like, Anyone bring up Drakesbane =D? 4-hit, Critical Hit Varies with TP. Big weapon?
Hexa-Strike? 6-hit, Critical Chance. Clubs have epic base damage.
Anyway, I always thought Greatsword/Staff need a Multi-hit WS (that doesn't Suck haisicklemoon). I was thinking more safe along the lines of 3 hits. Hell, That Cataclysm should be 3 hits, Wouldn't be too hard... "Poke-hit, Full Swing-hit, Retribution Hit" there you go, Recycled graphics for a 3-hit Staff WS. DO IT.
But yah, Omnislash was probably a bad idea... it screams Fanboy. If i was naming it It'd be "Northern Cross". I'd go into detail on how it'd look but it would expose too much of my game, wehehehe! It would be 5-hit though, in my mind (Again, Not suggesting it, Its just something I've actually given thought to before.)
Plus, and this is just the basic of basics, Just because the Weapon is larger doesn't mean you can't control its damage to not be overpowered on Multi-hit WS.
You can give GS a 4-hit Critical Hit WS and control the damage on it enough to not be over-powered, but in the same light match some other decent WS. You would simply give it a low fTP mod (1.0~1.5) and lower stat mods (say, 20%VIT).
I'm not saying the exact above formula, I'm only saying its possible to make a multi-hit WS on a large-damage weapon and not completely over-power it... I mean honestly :\
