I am fairly confident that post was made in remark to the idea of Magitek Armor in this game, nothing to do with FFXIV.

Why PUP? Because PUP is the job closest to magitek machines! Alexander was summoned into the FFXI version of a magitek walker, after all, which is the most advanced automaton around.

Would break the lore and look of the game.
Plus, pup doesn't need to be over-compensated.

Calling your own chocobo using the chocobo whistle IS a trainer's ability.

Meh.. maybe the civilian non-combat level 1 version. PUP will get the military level 120 version, with the beam cannons and such. It's a job designed from the ground up to use magitek, and unless SE adds a Magitek Knight (RDM offshoot that uses automaton parts) PUP will be the Chosen Job for it.
