Quick Level to 99 PART I

Today in the current state of FFXI, having many different jobs is a must. In order to get around the game effectively, you will need to need to dedicate as much time leveling everything you can in order to solo, make gil, particpate in many events and more.

By having many jobs, this will enable you to be the "Jack of many trades."

The purpose of this guide is to help advise you on how you can effectively level up as quick as possible. I will also include details on basic tips to help you avoid obstacles to save you time.

Basic Equipment
First off here is the most important tip. You must buy basic "Starter" equipment and save these for every job. Since you will be leveling multiple jobs taking the time to collect basic low level sets will help you save massive amounts of time.

Several people may tell you that it's not needed. And while it may very well be so, I'm advising you to have them for a greater purpose. To save you overall time so you can level the fastest way possible.

HQ Equipment - Armor
One of the great things in earlier levels is that HQ gear can show you a noticeable difference in power. Once you see this, your point of view may change on gear entirely.

Because you will be using these sets on more than 1 job, I highly suggest buying all HQ pieces including HQ weapons.

Im going to show you the difference between NQ & HQ.

Point: This shows you that HQ version will give +5 more defense than NQ version.

WHM Spell Protect
Spell cost: 9 MP
Spell element: Light
Target: Any, PC or allied NPC.
Magic skill: Enhancing
Increases target's Defense by 15.

So by combining Protect with each armor set what is better?

HQ Version 16 + 15 = 31 Defense
NQ Version 11 + 15 = 26 Defense

Now if you wanted more defense. You could use food for an additional amount.

Boiled Crayfish
Defense +30% (Cap is +25 Defense @ 83 base Defense)
This food is for anyone Under 90 Base Defense.

Conclusion
The Reason why it's best to use HQ version gear for leveling is for less overall downtime, less curing, less resting, more fighting on a consistent level. You will be able to breeze through levels without wasting any time.
