Traveling Tools and Survival Items
Here are some of the basic items you should be carrying with you at all times.
To be a better player is to be a well prepared player that is self independent and does not rely on others to do simple things that you can do yourself.
1. Warp scroll/Cudgel (If you do not have enough Conquest points to buy these, do know you can receive a free scroll per vana day from the Moogle who gave you the Mog Sachtel quest. Just talk to him and quickly exit the conversation to obtain one. Also having Warp Cudgel can help. These are sold in AH or in peoples bazaar. I always carry a warp cudgel in case i forget to bring a scroll with me always sitting in my mog sach.
2. Sprint shoes, can be bought in the past with Allied Notes. If you do not have enough allied notes then i suggest you do one of the quick quest to earn you some. In each nation you can do the quest "Street Sweeper" by roaming around town and finding the "Suspicious Object" which can net you about 500+ allied notes. How many times did people have to wait on you because you walked too slow? This can also sometimes stack with other walk speed items that are not Enhancing type.
3. Food, dont follow other players habit or listen to those saying "Food" is not needed. Sure it may NOT be needed to those who are not serious about their characters. However I cant stress this more than I already have in several of the other parts of the guide. Food is there for a reason. Its still in AH for a reason. You want more Accuracy, STR, HP, MP, INT, DEX, AGI, ATTK, DEF? Then use it, don't ignore it and don't be lazy either because its not that hard to earn enough gil to buy these. Especially if I already gave you a way to earn up to 5mil in 1 day in the gil guide above.
4. Remedy, Echo drops, Eye Drops. Well now Remedy is one of the best items you can use to remove Blind, Disease, Paralyze, Silence all in one. You can buy these in Upper Jeuno from the NPC Leillaine G-9 or in Aht Urhgan Whitegate from NPC Gavrie F-8. Otherwise if you want a cheaper option you can buy echo drops, eye drops which maybe cheaper but consumes more inventory space.
5. Silent Oils, Prism Powder. You should not have to wait on any mages to cast this spell on you in fast pace events, especially where time is limited, and in places where people are trying to get move from one camp to the next quickly. Also you should be carrying these in situations such as Dyna, Salvage, Nyzul Isle or Neo Nyzul as these save you several seconds from waiting on mages to cast the spell and waiting for the recast timer of the spell to cast again.
6. Reraise Earring or Reraise Scroll, You should be carrying this at all times in case you die. Id hate it to see anyone in Dyna lose their opportunity to farm items because they didnt have Reraise up.
7. Ninja Tools, For those of you playing Ninja, dont waste good inventory space on buying every tool, there are all-in-one items available for casting certain skills to help you save space such as Inoshishinofuda for all elemental, Shikanofuda for Self-Enhancing, and Chonofuda for Foe-Enfeebling.
Other items are optional such as Icarus Wing, Vile Elixer, STR potion etc. These can help you so don't overlook them. Imagine you just died, and your subjob is dancer... rather than sit a few minutes to gain HP risking death again, you could pop an Icarus wing to give you instant TP so you can Curing Waltz yourself.
Again don't be a lazy player, be an independent one who is well prepared at all times.
