    Old Nyzul Climb/Mythic Base Weapon

So we know you can receive up to 4 Tags. NPC can only hold 3 so you will need to carry 1 at all times to achieve having 4 tags total. Unless you have completed all assault missions NPC can hold 1 additional tag.

NPC Rytaal located in Aht Urhgan Whitegate at (K-9) after receiving your tag speak with NPC Sorrowful Sage at (L-9) to activate the Nyzul Isle Investigation mission under view missions list. Do not activate Nyzul Uncharted area as this is Neo Nyzul.

Read over my Networking tips as this is a very good example as to why it helps. To achieve floor 100 I would suggest asking friends in LS or on your Friendslist who can static with you.

Set a day and time out of the week where all of you can gather and do this. You'd be surprised at how many people are willing. Not only are there people who need the climbs, but also there are people willing to run with you for the tokens.

(Note: The following day after your Static Run, go grab 1 tag at the time it replenishes so the NPC can hold 3 by the time your next gathering is scheduled leaving you with 4 total.)

Tips: While doing a static party people tend to forget the time and sometimes day you are meeting up. It is wise not to commit to anything 1 hour prior to the event. Remind each other throughout the week and 2 hours before the event send a message letting each know that you are gathering.

These days 3 people can defeat 96-100 easily. However in earlier floors due to having Lamp Objective where it can require up to more people to achieve, it might be wise to have more than 3 in your party.

For those of you who have no idea on how to do Nyzul. Again there are players out there willing to do the run for Tokens and many of those already know how Nyzul works.

When entering Nyzul, you want to keep 1 person at the Rune Transfer at every floor (Most likely Scholar) to save time from having everyone running to find it after completing objective. This saves you time.

The only annoying part of the climb is Lamp Objectives.

Also for floors that have "Do not be discovered by gears" using range attack from far away claiming them before they see you can help you avoid being penalyzed.

When climbing floors you need to becareful when exiting. As floor climbs are written onto your disc by 5's, if you are trying to achieve past 10 floors per tag, pay attention to how much time you have.

    Unlocking a Mythic Quest
Once you reach floor 100, by that time all of you should have obtained your Mythic base weapon, however for those of you who haven't, do not worry there is an easy way to get it

You will need to be the leader entering everyone in at floor 96 playing the job of the Mythic Base Weapon you want to acquire. So if you need Beastmaster Mythic Base Weapon, you need to be on BST. At floor 100 Mythic base weapon of the job and person who entered everyone in is 100% drop.

After obtaining your base weapon you can do the Quest to unlock your Mythic Weaponskill. Some weaponskills can be useful such as White Mage Mystic Boon.

Below is the chart of how many weaponskill points are needed. You can do this in Abby and with all other weaponskill quests, doing level 3 skillchains can help you earn points faster. You must be the person starting the skillchain first to receive points.

    Floor/Points
    100 250
    80-99 : 500+20*(99-x)

    95 580
    90 680
    85 780
    80 880
    60-79 : 1000+40*(79-x)

    75 1160
    70 1360
    65 1560
    60 1760
    40-59 : 2000+80*(59-x)

    55 2320
    50 2720
    45 3120
    40 3520
    20-39 : 4000+160*(39-x)

    35 4640
    30 5440
    25 6240
    20 7040
    01-19 : 8000+320*(19-x)

    15 9280
    10 10880
    5 12480
    0 16000

After completing floor 100 you only need 250 weaponskill points. The NPC who offers the quest is located in Lower Jeuno.

    NPC Zalsuhm.
    Type: NPC
Location: Lower Jeuno (H-9) *Inside Muckvix's Junk Shop*

There is also an NPC who can store your Mythic base weapons however you should only store them before or after working on unlocking the weaponskill.
It costs 1 Imperial Bronze Piece to store 1 Weapon.

    Ghanraam
    Type: NPC
Location: Aht Urhgan Whitegate (K-10) Upper floor

    Popular Jobs For Hire

One thing that I've noticed over several years throughout FFXI is that SE likes to shift the favor torward certain jobs be it a new expansion or an adjustment made to discontinue the popularity of the job in question. We've seen everyone jump on WHM back in the day when Hexastrike could be spammed nonstop for its instant TP recovery after using the WS until the Nerf.

Lately we saw many people jump on to Scholar before Embrava was nerfed. So History does prove that SE offers temporary power to certain jobs and as Geomancer and Rune is on its way to development there is a possibility that these jobs will be popular too.

And well RDM & PLD is now getting back into the game again.

So this is my point on SE shifting favor over to certain jobs for certain content.

Now here is the advice I am sharing with all of you who refuse to play other jobs. You really need to be open minded and level as many jobs as possible. Then you will be busy with so much stuff that gives you a better reason to fill your time. Instead of sitting in town all day let down that you can't get the one thing on your accomplishment list done.

At end game content let me ask you this? Would you rather not participate in shout groups if you dont have the job people are asking for?

Earlier I mentioned that I have 13 jobs at level 99 which I've achieved over the course of 6 months returning less than a year ago. That includes half of the jobs are either well geared or decently geared. Most of the time I see shouts in town asking for jobs I don't want to play however I have them in case I feel like I need to earn plasm or other items from events.

It's good that you build yourself to be versatile in options.

How many times have you seen someone ask for Blue mage in town when people shout for VW? Personally it's not one of my favorite jobs but atleast I have it so I can use in Abbysea procs and VW events.

And the fact that I can "Participate" overcomes the obstacle of being left out.

Sometimes my day consists of skilling up Bard, Geomancer, Magian trials for WHM, BLM, RDM, some days I farm, other days I VW, sometimes ill do Salvage and Einherjar. There are many things in this game to keep you busy.

So I encourage all of you to rethink about this.

    Bazaar & Marketing 101

Ok so everyone knows that you can sell items in Bazaar however these points I'm going to explain will not only help you but in return teach you how to be respectful to others when it comes to selling. I know Respect is a very hard thing to come by these days but please do not take this with a grain of salt as your actions effects everyone else in game. And effects the entire economy in the long run.

    How?

Well let's say 1 Byne Bill sells for 7k and you just shouted in town 5k. People who do not even know how much it's worth will assume they can buy it for 5k now and you've just lowered the value on that item by 2k leading to players refusing to pay 7k when they think its worth 5k instead.

Not only is that greed, that is very selfish to those who took the time to farm the same items only for you to lower the price so you can get rid of your stock faster.

    Moving right along...

First off becareful when looking through people's Bazaars. Scams do happen. Some people try to list a few items from Dynamis such as 100 Byne Bill and try to confuse you with 1 Byne Bill.

    Example
    M. Silverpiece 600,000
    L. Jadeshell 600,000
    1 Byne Bill 600,000

Did you notice that 1 Byne Bill is not 100 Byne bill?

Also players in town desperate for gil endlessly shouting a lower price than everyone who put those same items in Bazaar for higher than you. This is how the economy drops the price on the items you are discounting and everyone suffers from this. Shouting in town is only promoting a new value.

Tip: Shout to others the items you are selling and your location without revealing any prices. If people want the item you are selling such as Heavy Metal Plate, people without a doubt will definately look in your bazaar.

Now let me explain some points on why your items didn't sell.

    1. Not everyone may need what you have to offer at the moment.
    2. Area you are selling lacks customers.
    3. Your Prices are the same as everyone else.
    4. Your items are not reasonably priced or higher than everyone else.
    5. Your items are not meant for selling in Bazaar.

What many people do not realize. Items such as Dynamis Currency or Alexandrite may not sell instantly all because people might not be working on that trial at the moment. Or people who are working on that trial may not even be online.

There's also a time when people log out and put up bazaar in town. Take for example JP players will play till Midnight or a little over midnight and then park their characters before bed.

Here is the best respectful approach you can follow that not only works but helps the economy and those around you trying to sell the same items.

    1. If your items are not selling, discreetly lower the price and wait. Several people in town like to look through others and compare prices. If yours is lower than the rest, I guarantee they will come back to yours and buy it.

    2. Add people to your Friendslist or write that persons name down that you notice is purchasing your items. For example if someone bought 25 HMP from you, most likely that person is working on their level 99 EMP trial. Message them and ask, offer to be willing to sell them more if you get them.

    3. Sometimes moving to a different part of town can make a difference.

    4. Sometimes selling at certain times of the day or week such as the weekend can help you get rid of your stock.

Just like the world today, not every store is going to sell out the moment they put things on the shelf.

Tip: When you discreetly lower the price of items, players will talk to each other in LS to let them know they saw you selling at a very good discount. And some customers will even come back to you everyday to check and see if you are selling the same items they need.

    Farming & Auction House 101

    Farming Basics 101
When farming items, check first the value of that item in Auction house as prices can change at any given moment.

I've noticed so many people hooked on only farming 1 item thinking they are going to get rich quick. For the obvious, making this a competition is what you are doing with the others. So lets try to take this at a different approach.

    Here are some tips:

    1. Make a list of different types of items to farm.

    2. Respect others who are farming at the same camp as you. It doesn't make sense if you are rounding up mobs and FC killing them. Especially if you are playing a job without Treasure Hunter.

    3. If the camp is small, check to see who is there and ask them how long they will be farming at that spot before you decide to crash and take over. Other players need to farm too and it doesn't help if the camp is small.

    4. If its an area where lower levels are exping, please have respect for them. Don't ruin the exp spot because you are 99 with power. Example: Outer Horutoto Ruins.

    5. Treasure Hunter matters and can cut the time in half so either sub it, bring one with you or level it. There is also a TH sash you can find in Gold Chests in La Theine Plateau Abby. I believe there is also an atma if you are farming in Abyssea as well.

    Auction House Basics 101
Auction house has the same approach as Bazaar when it comes to selling. I want to point out some useful tips on how you can sell things better. Also again how you can respect others who are trying to sell the same items you are.

Important Reminder: Before you sell your item. Check the NPC to see how much the item is worth. You'd be surprised at how many careless people put up items that sell more at NPC.

Scrolls for example. So many times I've bought several scrolls and earned 2k+ because careless people didn't check the value from NPC.

    1. Put up different types of items and not the same one.
    2. Lower the price by a small amount of gil.

    Example
Red Curry Bun +1 sells 250,000k
You could put 249,951 gil or 249,551 gil.

If you lower the price by 5k or 10k just because you think you are still making 240k, again have respect for others who took the time to either buy, farm or hunt the needed materials and craft it so that you have the ability to buy them when needed.

    3. Raise the price of the item you are selling when no one has the item you have up for Auction.

Pro Tip: Some items that are rare listed in AH can give you the perfect opportunity to net you extra gil and do some good in the community by raising the value of an item.

Say you have a Flume belt and the selling price for the last 2-3 previous sellers appeared as:

    Example [Flume Belt]
    10/10/13 Ultimas -> John 2,400,000G
    10/11/13 Ultimas -> Jane 2,500,000G.

Noticing the date shows that this item sells once per day. If no one has a belt up for auction. You could raise the price up to 2,600,000G. And patiently wait. Someone who really wants this item will buy it. This will not only help you earn gil, you will also help the economy go up so others can make a higher profit too.

    Observing Price History
Tip: Always check the date of items sold. This will tell you if the item is in demand or not selling well.

    4. Change the items you are selling, not everyone is going to buy Boyada Moss and quest raise for fame 24/7.
    5. Check the dates of when others sold their items. It will tell you how popular the item is.
    6. Check online sites like http://FFXIAH.com to see what items are current.
    7. Don't put more than 2-3 stacks of the same item, that way you are respecting others who need to sell theirs too.

If you are a crafter, you should craft different items too and not just 1. You have a much higher chance of making gil faster if you put up multiple items rather than the same one.

This also includes everything else, farming just 1 item will only bring competition and then eventually you will be fighting by lowering the price degrading the value which will lead to everyone suffering because of your greed.

Greed and Competition over 1 item between sellers not only results in lowering the value of the item. You discourage other people from farming it. Especially crafters and this can result in people not providing the items you and others need anymore.

    Introduction to Leadership

This topic is very important and I do hope you all read this one.

Playing the role of a leader is like being a Boss or Manager. You are the person in charge and what you do matters as everyone who has joined your event or party will pay respect to you running the show. It is an absolute privilege to have that power. And it's a skill you must have in order to advance quickly to get things you need done faster.

I know some of you might say "I'm not good at leading parties" or "I'm not the leadership type" therefore I "Can't".

Well this is why I'm going to take the time to advise you on how "YOU CAN" be a good leader.

Now leadership is an experience developed over time. And no leader started out perfect. As the saying goes "Practice makes perfect"

    1. A leader must be educated and knowledgable on many things. You must know the event, the jobs needed, and the strategy to accomplish that goal. You must know every detail about each job or atleast have a decent understanding so when that DD asks you should I use SATA off the main tanker and hold off on using Collaborator in case the mob petrifies the DD? Or should I save it for the mages instead? When do you want me to use Feint?

    2. You must be open minded when dealing with other people. Some players may not agree with you on your decisions, some may think they know better than you. Some players might go to extremes insisting their way is the right way.

    3. Patience is very important. Some people are slower than others. Some people can be lazy, some can be rude, some people can lack skills than others.

    4. You need to be firm, and confident in your decisions. Otherwise people can lose faith in your leadership.
Or disrespect you and try to take over your role.

    5. You must have good communication skills. Don't ignore the people you are inviting to your event. Respond to tells as fast as possible and if you are tied up, announce it in party to give you some time in responding to those who are messaging you. Communicate with your Alliance Leaders.

    6. Time management is very important. You need to be prepared in knowing how you can get the event going quickly before people start to bail on you.

    7. Be modest, fair, and considerate to those in your group. Especially when it comes to item distribution because if you don't do this right, word will get around and then no one will ever join your groups.

    8. A leader needs to know how to solve problems, not ignore them. Have a few different plans in case the one you had in mind doesn't work out.

    Now here are some tips

    1. Before you start the event, read up on the jobs you are inviting, glance at the spells or abilities they have to help you make use to some of the strategies you plan on doing.

    2. Read carefully over the bosses you are going to fight, figure out how you can defeat it, what's needed to avoid certain death.

    3. Examine which jobs are hard to find and get those people first before you start shouting. This will save you and the other people in your alliance from waiting all day.

    4. Give people hope and thanks for being patient. Communicate with everyone by saying "Guys I really appreciate your patience, i apologize for keeping you waiting."

    5. If you can't find a job, compromise, ask people in party or LS if anyone has that job you have a hard time finding. Say you need a BLU and there is a WHM who can change jobs. Since its easy to find a WHM problem solved. Or search towns, maps, abbysea, and message people by offering them an invite that you already have 17 people.

    6. Be persuasive, shout that "We only need 1 last person to join then we can roll!"
Sometimes you need to add what items people can earn in your shout message or how much gil people can get out of this event. Roleplay with someone in shout if you have to. Player#1 A few hours ago I made 2mil off HMP from Qilin." Player #2 "That's sad, I made 3 mil.. My numbers beats yours." Remember a whole team is waiting on you so do whatever it takes to get people to join. Even if you have to throw in a "Small White Lie." Just don't go overboard.

    7. Have proper care for your entire team. Ever notice a leader wait at the door to help walk players to the destination? Or waits at the very end to make sure everyone got back to their home point?

    8. Do not rush to kick someone out of your party without giving them a few fair warnings and speak with them about what you need them to do in the group. Sometimes situations can happen such as VW groups where everyone wipes out and your SCH is busy trying to raise people and keep players alive while in Light Arts rather switching over to Dark arts and proc which is something Black Mages could have covered.

There are so many other points I could include but learn this first and I will add on to it later. Remember practice makes perfect. Not all of us knew how to lead good groups from the start.

In the end you need to educate yourself on many aspects. Don't let anyone embarrass you for not knowing what you should have already been prepared for to begin with.

A Good Leader is a Knowledgeable, Wise, Openminded person who is Honest, Fair, Well-Spoken and Well-Mannered, Firm and Confident in making Decisions, is Considerate of the entire team and Listens well to others.

    Traveling Tools and Survival Items

Here are some of the basic items you should be carrying with you at all times.

To be a better player is to be a well prepared player that is self independent and does not rely on others to do simple things that you can do yourself.

    1. Warp scroll/Cudgel (If you do not have enough Conquest points to buy these, do know you can receive a free scroll per vana day from the Moogle who gave you the Mog Sachtel quest. Just talk to him and quickly exit the conversation to obtain one. Also having Warp Cudgel can help. These are sold in AH or in peoples bazaar. I always carry a warp cudgel in case i forget to bring a scroll with me always sitting in my mog sach.

    2. Sprint shoes, can be bought in the past with Allied Notes. If you do not have enough allied notes then i suggest you do one of the quick quest to earn you some. In each nation you can do the quest "Street Sweeper" by roaming around town and finding the "Suspicious Object" which can net you about 500+ allied notes. How many times did people have to wait on you because you walked too slow? This can also sometimes stack with other walk speed items that are not Enhancing type.

    3. Food, dont follow other players habit or listen to those saying "Food" is not needed. Sure it may NOT be needed to those who are not serious about their characters. However I cant stress this more than I already have in several of the other parts of the guide. Food is there for a reason. Its still in AH for a reason. You want more Accuracy, STR, HP, MP, INT, DEX, AGI, ATTK, DEF? Then use it, don't ignore it and don't be lazy either because its not that hard to earn enough gil to buy these. Especially if I already gave you a way to earn up to 5mil in 1 day in the gil guide above.

    4. Remedy, Echo drops, Eye Drops. Well now Remedy is one of the best items you can use to remove Blind, Disease, Paralyze, Silence all in one. You can buy these in Upper Jeuno from the NPC Leillaine G-9 or in Aht Urhgan Whitegate from NPC Gavrie F-8. Otherwise if you want a cheaper option you can buy echo drops, eye drops which maybe cheaper but consumes more inventory space.

    5. Silent Oils, Prism Powder. You should not have to wait on any mages to cast this spell on you in fast pace events, especially where time is limited, and in places where people are trying to get move from one camp to the next quickly. Also you should be carrying these in situations such as Dyna, Salvage, Nyzul Isle or Neo Nyzul as these save you several seconds from waiting on mages to cast the spell and waiting for the recast timer of the spell to cast again.

    6. Reraise Earring or Reraise Scroll, You should be carrying this at all times in case you die. Id hate it to see anyone in Dyna lose their opportunity to farm items because they didnt have Reraise up.

    7. Ninja Tools, For those of you playing Ninja, dont waste good inventory space on buying every tool, there are all-in-one items available for casting certain skills to help you save space such as Inoshishinofuda for all elemental, Shikanofuda for Self-Enhancing, and Chonofuda for Foe-Enfeebling.

Other items are optional such as Icarus Wing, Vile Elixer, STR potion etc. These can help you so don't overlook them. Imagine you just died, and your subjob is dancer... rather than sit a few minutes to gain HP risking death again, you could pop an Icarus wing to give you instant TP so you can Curing Waltz yourself.

Again don't be a lazy player, be an independent one who is well prepared at all times.

    Level 70-75 Era Weaponskill Quests

So you might be wondering why i'm posting this topic right? These weaponskills are old and ancient history right? Damage sucks yeah? Which ones again? Evisceration, Black Halo, Savage Blade.....?

True... I wont deny that, but not all of them suck.. I mean Evisceration can be good....

But then we already have better WS such as Merit WS, Mythic WS, Emp, Relic so why are we talking about this again??

Yes oldschool weaponskills are kinda outdated i admit that, but you need them regardless and here is why.

If you plan on breezing through Unlocking a Mythic Weapon skill or any other trial that requires you to do a level 3 skillchain or can help you finish the trial faster by doing a level 3 skillchain, then this is the main purpose of having these old weaponskills. Most of the time its best to party with a Samurai because they can Skillchain very fast.

A Level 3 Skillchain is creating a sequence of 2 weaponskills in a certain order within a certain time window to perform either Darkness or Light. Usually its best to wait 3 seconds after the first WS before using the 2nd WS.

Remember its important for you to close the weaponskill in order to gain your bonus points.

Lets take a look at Evisceration

    Dagger weapon skill
    Skill level: 230
In order to obtain Evisceration, the quest Cloak and Dagger must be completed.
Delivers a fivefold attack. Chance of critical hit varies with TP.
    Will stack with Sneak Attack.
Aligned with the Shadow Gorget, Soil Gorget & Light Gorget.
Aligned with the Shadow Belt, Soil Belt & Light Belt.

    Properties
    Element: None
    Skillchain Properties: Gravitation/Transfixion
    Modifiers: DEX:30%
    Damage Multipliers by TP::
    100%TP 200%TP 300%TP
    1.00 1.00 1.00
    Critical Hit Rate by TP:
    100%TP 200%TP 300%TP

Now lets look at Samurai Tachi: Gekko

    Great Katana weapon skill
    Skill Level: 225
Description: Silences target. Damage varies with TP.
Silence effect duration is 60 seconds when unresisted.
    Will stack with Sneak Attack.
Tachi: Gekko has a high attack bonus of +100%. [1]
Aligned with the Aqua Gorget & Snow Gorget.
Aligned with the Aqua Belt & Snow Belt.

    Properties
    Element: None
    Skillchain Properties: Distortion/Reverberation
    Modifiers: STR:75%
    Damage Multipliers by TP:
    100%TP 200%TP 300%TP
    1.5625 1.875 2.50

Now lets look at Level 3 Skillchains Chart

    Level 3 Skillchains
    Fusion ←→ Fragmentation = Light
    Gravitation ←→ Distortion = Darkness

Do you see this chart? Notice how it says in order to make Darkness you need Gravitation and Distortion?

Well Evisceration is Gravitation and Tachi: Gekko is Distortion, therefore this creates Darkness.

    Points method for doing Skillchains

    Points Method
    1 Landing a Weapon Skill
2 Closing a Level 1 Skillchain (one element)
3 Closing a Level 2 Skillchain (two elements)
5 Closing a Level 3 Skillchain (four elements)

When doing a level 3 Skillchain you are gaining 5 points each.

Now lets examine the Evisceration Trial Cloak and Dagger. (This quest is activated in Kahzam by talking to Jakoh Wahcondalo at J-9. In order to do this quest your dagger skill must be Level 71+ and have your skill level 230+.)

You will recieve the dagger of trials which has a latent effect on it and stats on the dagger itself, Pay absolutely no attention to the stats on the dagger. When you equip it, you will see the stats added to Elemental Stats in your equipment menu (you know the place where you put your gear on?). The only way to tell if you have completed this is when those Elemental Stats (Earth, Ice, Thunder..) disappear so you need to pay close attention and check it before you start the quest. Open your Equipment menu and Test it out by equipping it first and the unequip it so you can see the stat change. Then when the time comes you will know how to tell when the trial is finished.

Did you noticed how i made Elemental Stats bold twice?

Each job has one of these trial weaponskills so look up the information on Wiki, find out what they are and do them. I guarantee this will help you on your journey.

If you dont know what skillchains to do, First off you need to party with a job, then look online and find a Skillchain Calculator. You will be able to add the 2 jobs and weapon in and calculate to see what weaponskills you can do. http://magitekarmy.com/skillchain.php

As for Atmas in Abyssea. You might want to try using these...

    Atma of the Voracious Violet
    STR+:Superior (+50),
    "Double Attack"+:Major (+10%),
    "Regain":Major (2TP/~3sec)

    Atma of the Sea Daughter
    Regain+: Superior (5TP/tick), Slow+: Superior (+13.3%), Regen+: Superior (30HP/tick Regen during Daytime)

    Atma of the Stronghold
    Attack+:Major (+40), Defense+:Major (+40), "Regen":Major (15HP/tick)

I suggest having Haste gear capped at 25%. Meaning try to wear gear with Haste +% on it til you reach 25% for those who dont know what im talking about. (Yeah there are still people out there who have no idea what a gear set is but thats ok, thats why you are here to learn.)

The reason i suggested these 3 is because VV and SD are both Regain Atmas. The 3rd one is Defense, Attack and Regen and during the day your regen will be better when SD kicks in. And because SD gives you 13.3% slow, thats why i suggested you have 25% worth of Haste gear.

Other wise you can use Haste atma with 2 Regain Atmas. But then you are sacrificing Defense and Regen. And SD Regen only works during the day.

    Atma of Omnipotent
    DEX+: Superior (+50), Haste+: Superior (+10%Gear Haste), Enmity+: Minor (+value)

Honestly i dont know what your build will be so whatever works for you, do it. Im only suggesting these atmas so you can keep up TP Regain with Samurai if you party with one and do level 3 skillchains.

    Craftsman for Hire & Abjurations

There are so many crafters in game that have skills well above 100+. So I want to elaborate on why you need to find a good crafting friend.

There are many gears that can be augmented through Synergy (the little furnace tanks you see on the side of town?), from Einherjar, Sky, Legion, and so on...

    What is augment?
Definition: Augmented items are pieces of equipment that have had their base statistics modified.

Synergy is how you augment things. How this works is you need to have the gear item, and materials used for the process of augments so usually its a type of tatter or scraps such as:

    Aquarian Tatter
    Earthen Tatter
    Neptunal Tatter
    Dryadic Tatter
    Wyrmal Tatter
    Molt Scraps
    Genbu Scraps
    Byakko Scraps
    Suzaku Scraps
    Seiryu Scraps

Unwanted abjurations you intend to throw away or Seals from Sky can make these. So instead of tossing them, get someone to create tatter and scraps for you.

Note: These items can be bought in Bazaar.

So we know what Augments are and that Synergy can do them right? k next...

    Abjurations
I like to call them license, which is needed to unlock cursed gears. You can obtain these through VW, Providence Watcher, Legion, Sky, HNM, KSNM etc...

The NPC Alphollon C Meriard in Northern San d'Oria (L-6), in the Manuscript Room inside Cathedral will uncurse your items. You need to have the Abjuration and the cursed gear for this. Trade it to the NPC and thats it.

There are so many awesome pieces out there such as Aquarian Abjuration: Body which is used for unlocking Cursed Dalmatica.

Now i will say this. If you are planning to unlock a cursed item, I highly suggest saving up the gil to buy the HQ version. Some of these gears can be hard to obtain be it that the Abjuration you wanted was hard to get or that no Cursed item in AH or No history ever existed of an HQ version in AH so once you find that piece, its a treasure that will stay with you for a long time. Augmented gears are valuable as stats can vary based on luck and not everyone will have the same augments.

Most of the time you will be shouting in town buying these cursed gears if its an item thats rare like Cursed Dalmatica -1. Once again use my networking guide as this is another perfect example how useful it is to know people in game.

OK back to Hiring a Crafter / Synergist unless you already have these skills capped and know how to do it yourself.

Here are some tips to follow when dealing with Crafters and Synergists:

Just like in the real world you go to the Taylor and ask them to fix something for you. It's not free nor should it be.

NOTE: The price examples i write here are ONLY EXAMPLES, as i know every server has totally different rates.

    1. Shout in town asking for the type of craftsman you need. Don't offer prices, just ask how much they charge.
(Again for the respect of other crafters, you dont know how much they will charge and offering your price might offend people who charge more. And if you are really cheap, they wont even bother talking to you. And remember this you are asking people to do something for you at Level 99, not level 30.)

    2. Ask how much they charge in private and then if they ask you to offer a price, start off low like 100k depending on the item and how many items you want them to try and augment for you, and seriously, be modest. If you are asking someone to Synergize a Cursed Dalmatica-1 which is HQ version, then obviously people are not stupid. If you have millions of gil to buy that, then don't be cheap. Offer 250k-300k+ if you plan to do more than 50 tatters. Remember the person crafting for you has other things to do also and that persons time is just as valuable as anyone else's.

    3. Even if your craftsman offers to do it free. You need to try your best to pay them either in gil or some other method. Because accepting a free favor will mean they may not do you favors later when you need them. Unless if its someone you know very well. Atleast paying someone for a service means you can hire that person on a more reliable level than a person who did it for free.

    4. Add that person to your friends list and try to find more than 1 crafter in case the person you rely on doesn't log on.

    Craftsman
Now that we found a crafter, how does this actually work? You and the crafter now have to stand in front of the furnace. You will activate the furnace then trade your Gear + item (Tatter or Scrap) Then hit go.

Your Synergist will now start working on your item, While he is doing that select the furnace again and have the option to End menu already up so when your Synergist gives you the Cue, You end it.

If the message appear Smooth Synergized that means it was a successful HQ Augment. So when the item pops up to show you the stats, you have 2 choices. Either take the gear with new stats or Keep the existing ones.

If the stats are good take it, then keep trying till you get the highest or best stats from the previous ones. You can gain up to 3 HQ stats on 1 item so don't give up

Lets take a look at 1 gear example:

    Byakko's Haidate
    DEF:42 DEX+15 Thunder+50 Haste+5%

    Possible Augments
    Store TP 1- 5
    Critical Hit Damage 1%- 4%
    VIT 1- 6
    MND 1- 6
    AGI 1- 6

That means there is a possibility you could get Store TP +5, Critical Hit Damage +4% and AGI +6 on just this one pair of pants. With the existing Stats of DEF:42 DEX+15 Thunder+50 and Haste+5%.

Hope this helps! BTW Momotani on Phoenix Server is the one who maxed upgraded my Dalmatica+1 and is one of the best synergist I know in-game! Thanks Momo!!!

    Daily Schedule & Achieving Goals

Many players tend to waste so much time doing absolutely nothing. Just sitting in town all day "Waiting" for something to happen. I want to give you some good advice on this topic so you can train yourself to manage your time ingame and progress.

You have to set your own goals and achieve them yourself because no one is going to do them for you.

    1. Create a list of things you need to work on. Things like farming, Magian Trials, Emp, Dynamis, Salvage, Assault, Einherjar etc.
    2. Organize everything you intend to do and try to be on point by following it.
    3. Study the goals you are trying to accomplish in advance and not last minute.
    4. Figure out which goals can be done solo and which ones require help that way it's easier for you to separate the easy goals from the ones that take more time..
    5. Time management is also very important. If you feel you are spending way too much time on 1 goal and having bad luck, simply stop what you are doing and come back to it later. That way you do not fall behind on the other goals you have scheduled or stress yourself out trying to get that one goal done.

Know the details of the things you want to achieve based on its limitations so you can figure out the easiest way to schedule those goals or come up with a back up plan if you have extra time in the day to do it.

We know that you can enter Dynamis before and after JP Midnight.
Also if you didn't have time to do Salvage you can still purchase Key item before JP Midnight and then do 2 runs later.
Magian Trial Moogle gave you "Magian Specs" that allow you to check the weather on the map for the next 3 days.
Limbus once a day from the time you last bought detergent.
Assault from the last time you grabbed tag.

Knowing details such as these fall into place when you are organizing your schedule.

By doing this, you should be busy progressing on a daily basis many of the things you need or want to get done rather than "waiting" in town all day trying to figure out how to make the time go by quicker.

Events like VW can be something extra that you can throw in once in awhile in between your schedule if you see a shout that interests you. Say you did Dynamis at 11AM-1PM and went to town after it ends. Your next goal is set for 5pm while 1:30PM is your lunch break. That means if you finish eating around 2:30PM you have 2 hours and 30 minutes free and might want to join that QilinX6 before your next goal schedule.

    Example
    MON Assault, Salvage II, Limbus
    TUE Dynamis Xarc, Delve, Sky
    WED CoP, WoE, Meebles
THURS LS Event / Helping LS mates
    FRI Assault, Salvage II, Limbus
SAT Magian Staff, Sobek spam, Legion
SUN LS Event / Helping LS mates, Nyzul Isle

This is one of the most important traits you need to have if you want to reach "End Game" quickly.

There are so many things to do in this game, only you have the ability to get them done. Don't wait in town all day for random events. Work on your goals that help you progress and obtain those gears needed for your end game sets. Once you start to build and execute that schedule, you will soon adjust to the habit of getting things done faster, progressing and eliminating goals off your list.

Quick Level to 99 PART I

Today in the current state of FFXI, having many different jobs is a must. In order to get around the game effectively, you will need to need to dedicate as much time leveling everything you can in order to solo, make gil, particpate in many events and more.

By having many jobs, this will enable you to be the "Jack of many trades."

The purpose of this guide is to help advise you on how you can effectively level up as quick as possible. I will also include details on basic tips to help you avoid obstacles to save you time.

    Basic Equipment
First off here is the most important tip. You must buy basic "Starter" equipment and save these for every job. Since you will be leveling multiple jobs taking the time to collect basic low level sets will help you save massive amounts of time.

Several people may tell you that it's not needed. And while it may very well be so, I'm advising you to have them for a greater purpose. To save you overall time so you can level the fastest way possible.

    HQ Equipment - Armor
One of the great things in earlier levels is that HQ gear can show you a noticeable difference in power. Once you see this, your point of view may change on gear entirely.

Because you will be using these sets on more than 1 job, I highly suggest buying all HQ pieces including HQ weapons.

Im going to show you the difference between NQ & HQ.

    Normal Quality Version
Lvl. 1 DEF 4 Bronze Harness
Lvl. 1 DEF 1 Bronze Mittens
Lvl. 1 DEF 2 Bronze Cap
Lvl. 1 DEF 3 Bronze Subligar
Lvl. 1 DEF 1 Bronze Legging

    [Total Defense 11 NQ Version]

    High Quality Version
    Lvl. 1 DEF 5 Bronze Harness +1
    Lvl. 1 DEF 2 Bronze Mittens +1
    Lvl. 1 DEF 3 Bronze Cap +1
    Lvl. 1 DEF 4 Bronze Subligar +1
    Lvl. 1 DEF 2 Bronze Leggings +1

    [Total Defense 16 HQ Version]

Point: This shows you that HQ version will give +5 more defense than NQ version.

    WHM Spell Protect
    Spell cost: 9 MP
    Spell element: Light
Target: Any, PC or allied NPC.
    Magic skill: Enhancing
    Increases target's Defense by 15.

So by combining Protect with each armor set what is better?

    HQ Version 16 + 15 = 31 Defense
    NQ Version 11 + 15 = 26 Defense

Now if you wanted more defense. You could use food for an additional amount.

    Boiled Crayfish
Defense +30% (Cap is +25 Defense @ 83 base Defense)
This food is for anyone Under 90 Base Defense.

    Conclusion
The Reason why it's best to use HQ version gear for leveling is for less overall downtime, less curing, less resting, more fighting on a consistent level. You will be able to breeze through levels without wasting any time.

Bronze Harness Set will carry you over on all of these jobs.
    WAR/MNK/RDM/THF/PLD/DRK/BRD/SAM/NIN/DRG/BLU/COR/DNC/RUN

Just buying this 1 set will cover you on 14 jobs saving you money and time from looking through auction house every time you want to switch over and level a new job.
