    Guild banks?

So, is there any potential we could have LS-banks.

A bank shared with the community of your LS? Ideally you could restrict items to stackholders vs pearls.

I don't even mean the ability to deposit gil, though that would be fun. But it would be nice to, for instance, drop broken stacks of useful items into the bank. I just had to buy 99 baits to catch my guild fish. I've now got a stack for 89.

The nice thing about this is that it wouldn't "further increase zoning times" because it wouldn't have to load upon each zone. Guild banks could only be accessible from talking to an NPC, or better yet, talking to your moogle. Dependent on the linkshell equipped is the guildbank you had access to.

In my opinion from experience. LS Banks don't work. Maybe if it was a group of friends you knew IRL.

    Reason?

Friendships can turn sour instantly. And in the end, the person holding the entire bank is the person with the ability to run off with it. Be it that the person decides not to log on leaving everyone hanging? Too many misunderstandings can come from this.

Services are meant to be there to make our lives easier however we live in a world where people abuse such options that these things are better off left out than given.

As for the ability to send gil, this can be done through delivery to your personal Moghouse by every Auction House in game. As much as I wish this idea could work. Personally I've seen people put on the most convincing show of how honest and trustworthy they can be only to run off when the opportunity arrives allowing them to hide behind their true intention to begin with.

Ever see half the members quit? Then rather touch the topic of how much LS funds the group help build, staying quiet and walking off innocently as if they did no wrong because the others walked out. This is one of the scenarios I experienced.

An LS bank incorporated into the game, and not "some-guy's mule" fixes a lot of the issues as far as items within. A player can gripe and moan about what's on his character is his, but something contributed to by everyone with a pearl is the property of the shell rather than any single person.

I think he means like wow where everyone can deposit and take items out. It would be sort of like a auction house for ls members only where you put stuff you don't need and for other ls members to take out if they need.

I wonder if they could do it being that we are limited to the limits of PS2. This is why our inventory is restricted to 80.

There's no reason though that a guild bank can't have multiple pages of 80.

It would be a nice convenience, being able to deposit and share.

I agree to an extent, though I've been thinking on a system to help out with this.

The LS leader can design the bank to have multiple sections. Each section will be password protected by a 4 digit code. Only the linkshell leader can decide whom gets access to what area, and there is a maximum number of -3- pages, though instead of a scroll menu, it can have several columns built for armor pieces (Divided into each piece like head, body, hands, etc) a weapon section that has all the available weapons with a number displayed showing what the ls has put in stock for that area, and so on and so forth with appropriate sections. Much like the auction house.

However in terms of those 3 pages, it's simple.

You have items that are readily available to the -entire- community, meaning page 1 is for pearls, sacks, and shells. Page 2 is reserved for sackholders and trusted members (Whom can be reprimanded if they are caught stealing, as each withdraw and deposit of gear is logged to a certain extent for the leader/members to review and have proof to the GM if it becomes necessary.

so page 1 = community page.
page 2 = sacks and trusted members.
page 3 = the gil treasury. This is logged constantly, every transaction be it withdraw or deposit, -will- be sent to the leader and sackholders. It can hold an unlimited amount of gil, and thus would make and ideal 'bank'.

However this still runs the risk of thievery, but if people play the honor system and people tell GM's that things have been stolen and it's been logged, then I'm sure it won't be so bad.

You could even make a section in the Ru'Lude Gardens auction house for the central hub of the linkshell bank. Also if you leave the ls, your items will -stay- in that ls, as after you donate the items into the bank, technically they become property of the community. However I'm not sure what would be done if the linkshell ended up disbanding.

I don't see this happening, the main reason is that it is Linkshells, and not an actual guild, you can be a member of more than one, so people would just go make their own Shell, and have their own personal linkshell bank, people wouldn't need as many mules, and that is money straight out of SE's pocket.

i don't see this working, who's to say that players (linkshell holders) won't put stuff in the bank and the sackholders or shellholder won't feel its their right as a higher rank to use the banks for their own use. I have never trusted a LS on holding anything that i helped work for, look back in the day with dynamis runs, the LS owner and their croonies get the relic weapons and the rest of the people should be "grateful" to be allowed to help them get it under the promise of relic equipment you have to fight for.

Sorry to many times LS's have proven to me that you can't trust their leaders with holding anything for you.
