    Oh Chatoyant Gorget.

I know this has been brought up before, but I don't think SE realizes that this is one of the little things that we would really really appreciate. Like Chatty Staff, it's the kind of thing you sic a dev on for a few hours, and the community really is grateful.

    Hey SE~

About a year ago, you gave us Chatoyant Staff because you finally heard mage's cries that they simply didn't have the inventory. Chatty staff flies in the face of the principal of the staves (using the right one for the wrong things, and especially not using the wrong staff).

Gorgets are exactly the same. Precisely. Inventory hasn't been "fine" in years, but back at 75, most of us only had a few gorgets because we really only had a few jobs.

Please, make the same consideration for melee. Give us Chatoyant Gorget, A Chatoyant ws belt, and Chatoyant obi's for completion's sake.

Chatoyant gorget could require a smith's product to turn into an npc, along with the gorgets.
    Chatoyant ws-belt could require a leatherworker's product.
Chatoyant obi could require something from clothcrafters.

Idk I'd much rather have the gorgets since they are built require you to build a chatoyant on your own... the belts...... Idk a quest maybe involving you aquiring all the belts and fighting and abyssea monster...... the reason we have these items is for choices.... simplifying everything just takes away from the games general purpose...

I don't know about melees, but I know mages would die for a chatoyant obi, ESPECIALLY scholars. For sch who give themselves fulltime weather of their choice, having access to all eight obis at any given time is extremely valuable. There is no other piece in this game currently that can beat a correct obi with the correct weather up. This is true for all magic types except enhancing and geomancy. Perhaps this is why they won't do it, although SE you really should consider it. Cycling the obis in and out my mog sack as the situation desires it is really inefficient.

Simplifying things just makes people have more inventory space and helps to solve one of the games general problems. If you wanna carry 2~4 gorgets even if they made this be my guest, I prefer to have inventory space saved. Right now I carry 3 gorgets/belts, I know mages which carry 3~8 Obis, to say its a good idea to keep it the way it is, is only making this problem stay around longer as they claim they can not do what is truly needed to fix it.

Combining these items really does need to happen. I really don't know why SE are being so stubborn about it - the chatoyant staff proves that they can put enough effects on one item. I see the "but it's overpowered!" excuse for this sort of thing so often, but the point is that we do it already anyway, and it is just an inventory saver - nothing more.

With that said, they only released the chatoyant staff after they released staves that were twice (or more) as potent, so undoubtably we'll be getting combined obis a couple of months after they release HQ obis that give 1.5x the bonus.

(insert obligatory magian staff combining request here)

I never said due away with it... I was only implying simplifying the way of obtaining such an item like leaving it to crafting would only take away from the original intent of these belts and the games purpose which is choices... just because everyone chooses to bring along everything they possibly can doesn't mean SE has to remedy it on a constant basis...

I agree they need to finally combine the elemental gorgets, belts, obi's and sachets too. This game will always have situational gear and especially now with the new way of vertical progression with armor and item levels, it will increase exponentially of situational gear.

While I see the intent of forcing you to pick certain gear over another, I don't agree with it to the extent of these items. Which easily take up a good chunk of inventory. Requests like this are not overpowered, they are a quality of gaming adjustment because it only affects inventory. To me, it's like saying that Moogle Slips are overpowered because it allows more space for armor you couldn't carry otherwise.

They've already expressed that as content grows older, they will adjust it. Why not the same for items? Most of these items have been out for years, make it easier to use to alleviate some of the current issues with inventory.

@Umichi: The op idea isn't that simple. You need to obtain all the elemental gorgets before you can get a Chatoyant Gorget. Similarly for belts and Obis. Right now, the ones who can effectively use the obis are using 3rd party cause you have to make different sets of macro based on weather and/or day to use them effectively.

It isnt overpowered since you can only have one day and one weather on at a time. Its not like you're gonna gain the power of all 8 weather and days at once! Inventory is the only issue with this really

I covered that in my OP. I realize that Chatoyant staff defied the purpose of the use of staves, but inventory is getting worse, not better. I'm glad when I get the rare piece that replaces two.
