Square Enix, PLEASE STOP apologizing to us. I Hope SE staff reads this...

All I need to say is, you DO NOT need to apologize to anyone for the situation that has played out in Japan. There is no need for apologies from you to us.

This insignificant game is NOTHING compared to the thousands upon thousands that are missing and or dead. This game means nothing when it comes to lives of REAL people. They don't get to home point and try again. I love this game, 11, 14, but it is Insignificant and of little importance when it comes to the real life situation in Japan. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE THIS GAME like no other.... over a year of play time.

So PLEASE Square Enix, STOP apologizing to us. There is no need for it. I'm happy to see that the servers will be back up this friday, but please just stop apologizing. We understand. I feel bad seeing you apologizing to us. It is us that should be apologizing to you for what has happened.

There are too many lives lost to this awful catastrophe. If this game didn't come back for 3 months, (I'll miss it if it does), we would understand. I wish that you guys would read this, because this game is of little importance when it comes to the lives of the Japanese people. So please stop apologizing for shutting down of the servers. I understand, we understand. I just pray that more people are found.

I wish that the lives of the thousands dead or missing could be brought back. I also wish there was more that we could do. FFXI, SE, POL, and more recently, FFXIV have all been part of our lives for a long time and nothing of this scale has ever happened. Especially mine, I have been around since Playstation 2 release and haven't left yet. You have never had shutdowns before. You have never let us down. And you are not letting us down now. I just hate seeing you apologizing to us for things out of your control. It is understandable, totally, 110%.

I just hope the best for you guys at Square Enix, the staff, your families. I'm sure more than just a few of you have been affected one way or the other by this Earthquake. I'm sure some of you guys have families in the majorly affected areas where the thousands are lost and or dead. There is nothing we can say to change anything. I am offering my condolences, my prayers, MY APOLOGIES to YOU ALL, SE and Japan alike. We are the ones that are sorry, there is no reason to keep apologizing to us.

And each update you have apologized to us. There aren't words to express our true feelings to the families of the lost and dead, to you guys at Square Enix, your families, your friends.

I just wish there was more that we could do to help out. I went out and bought games today from you guys that I haven't had the chance to buy yet. I've donated to the Red Cross, I've done as much as I can and I know thousands of others have done the same thing. But I really wish there was more we could do, besides throwing money at a bleeding wound.

I pray for you all every night....but there is no need to apologize. I know I speak for many when we say that this game has little importance compared to the lives lost.......

It's out of courtesy and professionalism for the apologies. It is not needed but the Japanese are very polite people as well. I'm sure they respect our patience and support just as we respect their citizens and what they need to do to get through the hardships of what is happening over there. Don't forget we are human first and everyone deserves respect whether you're going through good times or bad times. SE appreciates their fanbase just as the fanbase appreciates SE and its employees. The appreciation and understanding is mutual and no one who has the right mindset wants to see anyone go through hard times whether it be through experiencing a natural disaster or being bored/addicted and needing your gaming fix.

Of course our situation is not at all as bad as Japan's, but SE and the Japanese appreciate us just the same I'm sure.

    This.

It's all a formality. It's part of running a business.

You know, all this support is losing it's meaning because there have been soooo many posts about it. They know we are supportive and they have thanked us for being so. We should just leave it at that I think.

    Also...

While it is true, it can be taken as an insult lol. They work rlly hard on this game, I'd hope that they know it does mean alot of the dedicated players.

It is an insult. Game developers tend to be passionate, and while it's easy to be self righteous to prove a point one must remember that FFXI and FFXIV matters to SE, too. They aren't going to care about them more than their families, but it is their lives nonetheless and I'm sure they consider it mighty important. Also people need to realize that when you are in the shoes of SE, it is not and will not ever be as simple as family and friends first, end of story. Like in the sense that they can just forget about their work for 3 months while things get back to normal. There are millions of dollars at stake, responsibilities that must be kept. They have investors to keep happy. That's life in big business. You can't afford the luxuries of smaller folk.

When they apologize, they are being nice. They are also following business 101.

You should quote the rest if you are going to quote part..."Don't get me wrong I love this game like no other, but it is of little to NO significance to the Thousands upon Thousands lost." Not exact words...but that is what I meant and it is true.

This game has no significance to the lives of REAL people.

And yes, a book, I like books. I just feel bad, I feel really bad for the people of Japan. The suffering that is going on over there. The millions that are homeless, let alone having electricity in a lot cities.

The Japanese are very polite people, but I feel REALLY REALLY bad seeing them apologizing to us for "The inconvenience that has been caused by the Earthquake".

Again not exact words, but I think we should be apologizing to them and telling them not to apologize to us for something they have no control over. I'd happily give up FFXI for 6 months if I had to, if it would help out even 1 Japanese person affected by this Catastrophe.

The game isn't stupid,, I love this game like no other, been playing since PS2 release and never been gone for more than a month at a time, but when you compare it to the REAL LIFE situation that has gone on over in Japan, it is stupid and of little significance. I'm sure the staff at SE has lost family...that is what I am getting at.

All I'm getting at is WE should be apologizing to them. Not them to us. I understand why they apologize, but I haven't seen many postings saying, "Don't apologize to us, we should be apologizing to you." And since we cannot post on the announcement threads, I wanted to make a thread apologizing to them telling them that we understand and that apologizing to us, while polite as it is, isn't needed. I'm the one who is sorry this happened.

Take all the time in the world, that is what I am saying. There is so much going on there...and I feel bad reading "We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the situation here in Japan". It breaks my heart reading that.

Well my point is made, even if I have to write a book.

I'm with you. Even if it is business 101 and in a business world at the end of the day we are all still human. Questionable for some in here but most of us still are . . .
