    1) Linkshell embles/shield crests
Only if they make them customizable. They are quite ugly.
While I agree, many don't think so, and they do contribute to the roleplay factor regardless.
    2) Retainers/bazaar mules
It's good, but I'd never use it.
Well this is more than just convenience. There are many people who have second accounts just to mule/bazaar efficiently. Although getting rid of that may not necessarily be in SE's best interest, it is still a very practical feature.
    3) Better crafting system
No, not in the slightest. Crafting should not be a mini game.
Why not? I dislike the random win/lose thing. Regardless, I wasn't asking for a minigame, just something to make it more appealing. As I said, I don't want them to just copy the game style.
    4) More teleport points
    But you have limited uses.
Still allows for easier access. And again, it doesn't necessarily have to be the same.
    5) Show status effects of party members
As a WHM, I like this idea, but it'd put too much on the screen in large PTs.
Agreed, however it could be reduced to only important status effects or restricted to one party.
    6) Show remaining time on own effects
I think this is unessisary, too many variables.
Not sure how those are related, it should be easy enough to determine.
    7) Multiple linkshells equipped
Wasn't a fan of that feature.
I wouldn't use it either, but it opens possibilities to people who could use it.
    8) Better chatlog filtering/organizing, customizable tabs, different log windows

    9) Minimap on the screen
SE already stated that this was unimplementable in FFXI.
Oh? Must have missed that. Still, it is a feature XIV has that would improve XI.
    10) Customizable HUD
    {Please use the auto translate function.}
Being able to adjust the position of screen elements, chatlog, HP bar, Party list, etc.
    11) Using the numpad to input numbers
    You can already.
Not the last time I checked, although admittedly that may have been some time ago. Did they change that?
    12) Built-in IME support

    13) No POL, better/faster login and updates

    14) Specific market wards

    15) Designated bazaar area

    16) Searchable bazaars

Anyway, this is not an official list or anything, just some things I noticed about XIV that seemed more advanced than XI's facilities. Some of them are basic to implement (Numpad), others more complex (IME), some are minor features (Linkshell emblems), others are huge (Retainers). Either way, this game still has lots of things it could use from XIV, just as the other way around.

I was unaware that you could move the screen elements around. You could put that absolute;y anywhere you wanted or was it limied to some kind of grid?
As for the numbers, you could always use it as far as I know.

Unfortunately no grid, I still believe my two chatlogs have a slightly different width, but it's very hard to test. There's an option to reset it though I think.

I have to agree with this post.

if your question was really FFXIV to FFXI the answer is nothing.
maybe the custom stats as you level and the elemental resistance things.

    oh i got one

    no support for ps2

Just like any good suggestions in the RDM thread get applied to SCH.

    3) Better crafting systemNo, not in the slightest. Crafting should not be a mini game.
So you'd rather just sit there and watch a crystal spin for 10 seconds. OK, Frankly I think the one really good thing in XIV is the crafting system. It makes you feel like you actually have control over the output instead of it just being totally up to chance.

    Outside of that-
an action bar would be nice, and thusly having the 0-9 keys along with the ctrl and alt 0-9 combos to activate abilities and macros.

Better mouse controls that are actually useful

Faster HP/MP recovery out of combat

    Voiceovers for major cutscenes.

The only major beef I have with FFXIV in its current state is a staggering lack of content. There are so many things that should be added by now that are still missing e.g. chocobos, last update added non-storyline quests but there are not enough of them.

I liked being able to mix and match abilities from any number of jobs as long as I had points remaining to do so.

I liked that the Linkshells were not actual items, pearls, that took up space. Graphics were a plus. I also liked that there were "Quests" that helped you level crafting so that you didn't have to spend tons of cash if you were a casual crafter. Not losing experience points was nice as well. That's about all I can think.

graphics and music.........but it is those graphics which means I can't play Ffxiv......comp has trouble. I would never buy a new computer for FFXIV........but would have to do something if things changed that much for FFXI

Why would the servers being shut down be thier bane? It's not like they were collecting money from subscriptions...
