SE will never drop PS2 support. Suggesting it is like beating a dead horse. Still like 1/3 of the JP player base plays on PS2.

From a business point of view they would lose so many subs and money. Its not going to happen people.

Yeah just imagine how many JP play the game on PS2. I am sure it is more then 1/3 if you count dual boxers. maybe 1/3 play on PS2 fulltime but am sure more then half them use a PS2 either for main char. or dual boxing. You can not just tell them all to go buy something new. That is their baby & they will keep there baby till the game comes to an end.

First it's 30%, now it's 33.33%? Statistics (from over 2 years ago) are fantastic and always changing apparently. I'm sorry but, you are just pulling figures out of nowhere.

yep I agree with that, but if someone says 30% how to you respond to there thread without having actual stats? I am just giving an example as to how many JP do actually use PS2 not based on any specific numbers, just the fact it has been reported multiple times about how JP players prefer PS2 over PC or 360 ( I have no clue why ).

If the stats came from Square Enix themselves, then I would be inclined to actually believe them. Other than that, why should I even consider stats that came from an online survey on a site that claims that almost half the people of the world (60.984 per 132 people) have played ffxi, based on a survey to people who purchased ffxiii and took said survey (which was only 132 people)? Like I said, 90% of stats are made up.

P.S. Who the hell was the person that only counted as .984 of a person? Sucks to be him.

Do you have a source for that statistic? Based on what I know about Japanese people (I lived in Tokyo for a year and majored in Japanese in college) even if that statistic was true, most Japanese people would just switch over to PC without complaining too much if the new content was worth it, and maybe a few isolated crazies would make videos of them breaking their game discs.

SE wont drop PS2, nor will they drop POL (POL is integrated with the game itself) Unless SE did some serious reprogramming dropping PS2 would not be some magic answer to everything.

Maybe after dropping ps2 support, then updating graphics should we pay full price. But idk its not really that expensive

Abyssea seems awfully unique to me. It might be the geographical twin of other areas but the game play is certainly different.
We are enjoying the game. I am kinda confused why anyone wants to get it free. Well no of course it would be cool if it were free but then it would stop getting new stuff. I kinda like to pay for what I get as well. They spend a lot of money getting the game to us and they deserve to be paid for it if we use it.
