    Please fix Adoulin zones/Rieves

    Ok, I missed the first month of the expansion because I was working (month straight 14 hour days, no time off) - I was worried that this would mean I was so far behind content I would be screwed for months more...

    It's too bad, but, my worry was right.

    Its so bad with the reives right now on Asura I can't even go on my own and unlock warps for zones. I wanted to do Skirmish with a few friends tomorrow, but now I am going to have to cancel - why? Because I can't get to the Augural Conveyor in Cirdas Caverns.

    Even if I wanted to be annoying and "show up" for the event without a warp, the 6 of us wouldn't be able to take down the reives ourselves to get to the zone to do the event.

    This is completely unacceptable and not viable in the long term. All zones should be accessible regardless of whether the server is engaged in a group effort to kill roots. Which, obviously, is never going to be a particularly popular activity, especially because the rewards are crap (especially if, like me, you play BRD or sleeper BLU)

    My rage is increased by the fact that I just spent a frustrating hour of my one and only life, running through a tree maze, and could find NO WAY through. This is not fun.

    I was willing to get over the fact that people like me, who weren't able to jump on the bandwagon in the first month got punished by strict delve KI NM timers. I was like "hey I'll just do skirmish to start with, those weapons are pretty badass!"

    Now I can't even do that unless I start an alliance to take out reives blocking the way. For the love of god. Please think about this a bit harder SE.

    This takes me back to an idea I had when I realized how bad colonization is designed.

    Rather than have roots pop up and block your way in set intervals, the zone could have been permanently unlocked in steps set by milestones. As an example, have Ceizak Battlegrounds be split into three parts segregated by the giant roots. You'd start with the main outpost right outside the gates of Western Adoulin. Doing supply runs and Lair Reives (that would be player-initiated) in the vicinity enough times eventually opens up the south-western chunk of the zone along with giving players access to Bivouac #1. Doing more supply runs and lair reives up until you hit a certain amount opens up the northern part of the zone and Bivouac #2.

    I'm not talking small numbers, either. Say that to unlock SW Ceizak Battlegrounds you need something like a combined total of 500,000 supply runs/lair reives completed by your server for the SW part of the zone to open up. To open the northern part you server needs something like 750,000 supply runs/lair reives. To open the zone line leading to Yahse Hunting Ground you need like 300,000 more supply runs/lair reives. At least this way it feels like you're actually colonizing the zones without making it seem like you go through all this trouble (not to mention reive-induced deaths) only to have your actions quickly undone by a bunch of roots.

    To compliment above the system, have packs of wildlife (the rabbits and butterflies and spiders) directly attack the Bivouacs, affecting services available in each Bivouac (which would be expanded way beyond teleportation) if you neglect to defend a Bivouac without it costing you access to the rest of the zone.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line.

    It just sucks that if I want to do a six person event in Cirdas (skirmish) I need to get 18 people to clear rieves for me to get the warps. That's bad design, people.

    1) the 6 of you, if at least one of you has a halfway decent PLD or DNC, should be able to clear a reieve
    2) I went on a skirmish not having the teleport yet and we were able to go around all the rieves along the way in cirdas. I'm pretty sure there's always a way to get there.

    You need to get a bst and sub dnc and just call the pet out (get 5 bst or you can use puppetmasters works really good get it done faster). , then sneak jig and have the pet fight the root and find hidding spot that mobs will not aggro you or keep jig up, and then pray no one standing near the pet and that the mob has no aoe attacks then you got to run out an wait 5 minutes if your pet get hit bye the aoe, solo still takes about a hr or more , but is a way you can get past the reives.

    Yes the reives system seems broken since no one does them anymore and it not scaling to the amount of people in the reives they need to make them weaker till get like 7 people then make it like this difficulty.

    Also does not help that on the xbox side and some pc people side the lag or slow down is horrible if get more then 12 people. Worst then anything that campaign ever had done with slow down and lag and had more people and npc and mobs. This with all the animation stuff turned off.

    Nope, if all the reives are up you can't get there.

    Assuming all Reives are up, I believe you have to start from Yahse Hunting Grounds to access the west part of Ceizak and get to the Sih Gates entrance that requires no Reives to get to Cirdas.

    SE has promised to fix this. I hope they do.

    Admittedly I didn't read this entire thread, just the OP, and yes I'm not going to argue with your points at all, because you are right (ish).

    Just going to point out that I personally cleared all the reives on the way to Cirdas on PUP it took a while, but I just set the automation and did other things while it killed the roots. And that was before I even had the alternator, it would most likely take 1/2 the time now.

    You only need to get to the skirmish area once, after that you can teleport right to them any time.

    But Reives are still a problem, im finding less and less people doing them all the time, its a pain since im always after more Bayld. One thing they need to do for Colonization and Lair Reive's is let us get skill ups in them, to make them more apealing.

    And i know they are doing something about the AOE's on matamata's but are they doing it for all mobs? The AOE Rarabs have its stupidly big and its hard to find a spot to rest.

    Haven't done skirmish. Just haven't, but can you tractor across the reives to get people there?

    OP, a lot of people have agreed with the many problems with reives, but SE, frankly, isn't hearing it. Morimar on Valefor is now down to Waypoints 0, 1, & 2 and has been that way for almost two weeks at least.
