    question about master accounts ID's

I noticed there are 10 slots for ID's, is that 10 ID's for FFXI or to be shared between FFXI and FFXIV? like lets say is it 10 ID's for FFXI and 10 ID's for FFXIV? or 6 FFXI ID's and 4 FFXIV ID's?

P.S. Anyone know if FFXIV will have the same type of combat systen in FFXI, the auto attack? so someone could run 2 or more characters at once, I know you can on FFXI.

    Thanks in advance.

You can only have a maximum of 10 PlayOnline accounts tied to the one Square Enix account. There's nothing stopping you from creating multiple Square Enix accounts though.

Not sure how XIV handles it, but it's not bound by anything on the XI side of things. As for auto-attack, XIV has none last I checked, you're just mashing your skillbar actions instead.

As far as I understand each game has its own limits; but if it doesn't, you can always make a second square enix account (and technically you're supposed to, if the accounts aren't all for you specifically).

I have been led to believe that limits on total number of FFXI and FFXIV accounts per SE account are completely independent of each other.

You can have up to 10 Playonline Service accounts for FFXI on one SE account. You can also have up to 8 FFXIV Service accounts on one SE account. You can have all 18 of them on the same SE account all at the same time. You can login to only one character from each of those Service accounts all at the same time, however I have no idea how you would actually control 18 characters at the same time.

The Playonline FFXI Service accounts can be logged in from any mix of the available platforms (PS2, Xbox360, PC) as long as it is only one login per Playonline Service account. The FFXIV Service accounts can be logged in from 8 PCs, or from 7 PC's and one Playstation 3 as long as it is only one login per FFXIV Service account. (You can log in to only one FFXIV Service account and character at a time per SE account from the Playstation 3 platform due to limits on linkage and use of the PSN account on the PS3.)

No, you just need to purchase one PS3 disk key for each service account you want to use on that platform. Basically if you want to use both platforms you need to make your account using one of the codes. The other will be used up to unlock the other platform to make it playable for a existing character instead of making a new service account.

I.E.: Platform jumping is no longer free.

thanks for all the replies it kinda sounds like you'll only be able to have one on a ps3 account but still play on both platforms as long as you don't try to use 2 accounts on 1 ps3.

You do need to authorize each FFXIV Service Account you have to play on each platform separately for each and every FFXIV Service account you have on the SE account. If want to have 8 FFXIV Service accounts on one SE account with every one of those Service Accounts able to play on either PS3 or PC, it will take a total of 16 registration codes to get it done. 8 of them for the PC version, and 8 for the PS3 version.

It should be noted that you can buy 8 copies of the PC version and use the registration codes that come with them to create the 8 FFXIV Service Accounts. However, for the PS3 version, you should only get one copy of the game, and use that registration code to authorize one of the FFXIV Service accounts for play on PS3 (and link the SE account to your PSN account). For the other 7 FFXIV Service accounts, it will be necessary to get the registration code from a web site that SE will open after launch for the other 7 FFXIV Service accounts to authorize them for play from your PS3. Using the registration code from a second or more separately purchased copy of the PS3 version of the game will not work.

Even with all of these registration codes put in place, you will still only be able to log into the game from a PS3 for just one character out of all those FFXIV Service accounts at a time. The other 7 FFXIV Service accounts can be used from 7 PCs at the same time as you use that one on a PS3 (one login per service account at a time). Having all those registration codes in place will only allow you the flexibility to pick that one character for use from a PS3 from any FFXIV Service account you have. And again, this limit of only 1 character at a time for the entire SE account from a PS3 on FFXIV is caused by limits in the linkage and use of the PSN account.
