You can change nations. Tarutaru magic is all powerful. I don't see a problem with Professor Shantotto casting a spell on you causing you to have a "dream" where you changed into a different race that contains a timer that you couldn't change this for at least a year. I think I'd like to change the color of my hair. Onion hair Taru is the best, but a taru would like to do something different for the ladies every now and then. Better yet, what about hair salon? Add a hair salon to a yearly event enabling us to change our hairstyle. Of course adding more than the current styles would be great (So willing to design them for free ^.^)

Actually i lied, I used to feel massively gimped because i used to be elvaan. That problem went away when my original character was banned, and i suddenly found myself in possession of a taru account.

With uncapped missions, abyssea leeching, etc, i would have done just that if the problem didn't solve itself 2 years ago.

This isn't allakhazam Rog, admitting your cheating and TOS violating ways here (and returning to FFXI after having previously been banned is a TOS violation) is going to get you rebanned (and you *should* be rebanned AFAIC)

Don't know if it's already been said, but the races in FFXIV do NOT have the same starting stats.

it is the same in FFXI and FFXIV, no race (and faction as in FFXIV) have the same stats, but in both games, the stats really do matter in the bottom line.

I would love to see us get racial merits....tarus should have the ability to fly, charm other pc's, infinite hp, infinite mp, immunity to damage, and a bright, happy, permenant aura that radiates because tarus are the most awesome race.

Isn't it against ToS to come back after being banned? I mean you were banned for a reason!

I can't really say I've ever been a fan of gross stereotyping, be it by races, classes, or whatever. Were you a taru that grew up pounding the crap out of mandragora and never touch a book? Maybe you should have some higher STR and less INT. A Galka afraid of fighting who instead took to scholarly learning? You might very well make a better mage. Instead, all level 90 taru WARs are the same, just as 90 Galka BLMs. Merits are too often an illusion of choice as some are just plain superior to others in their category or players themselves have developed a bias toward what's good and not.

Some might call it a suspension of disbelief for balancing purpose, but even carrying this to other things, why is it that if I maxed Great Axe on a WAR, I suddenly forget the skill when I change to RDM? Or even have lesser skill in it on DRK? Where does our "knowledge" of other jobs go once we click that button in front of our moogles? It's just one of those mysteries next to a lack of variation within the races themselves that could, theoretically, be tweaked via diet and activity.
