    Magic Casting Time Stat

For pieces of equipment that have a casting time reduction stat, there's a bit of inconsistency between the different types of reduction.

    Types of Casting Time Reduction
    "Cure" casting time -X%
    "Cure" spellcasting time -X%
    "Stoneskin" spellcasting time -X%
    "Utsusemi" spellcasting time -X%
    Black magic casting time -X%
    Blue magic spellcasting time -X%
    Elemental magic casting time -X%
    Enfeebling magic spellcasting time -X%
    Enhancing magic casting time -X%
    Healing magic casting time -X%
    Song spellcasting time -X%
    Summoning magic casting time -X

Below is a list of equipment with each variation of the stat (that I'm aware of).

    "Cure" casting time -X%
    Praeco Slacks

    "Cure" spellcasting time -X%
    Aceso's Choker
    Apaisante
    Apaisante +1
Capricornian Rope (NOTE: this also says 'Cure spellcasting time -1%', which should have Cure in quotes)
    Clr. Cap +2
    Cure Clogs
    Dominie's Grip
    Heka's Kalasiris
    Medala Cape
    Nabu's Shalwar
    Nathushne
    Nathushne +1
    Nefer Kalasiris
    Nefer Kalasiris +1

    "Stoneskin" spellcasting time -X%
    Carapacho Cuffs

    "Utsusemi" spellcasting time -X%
    Magoraga Beads

    Black magic casting time -X%
    Abs. Burgeonet +2

    Blue magic spellcasting time -X%
    Mavi Mintan +1
    Mavi Mintan +2

    Elemental magic casting time -X%
    Goetia Petasos +1
    Goetia Petasos +2
    Stoicheion Medal

    Enfeebling magic spellcasting time -X%
    Wikyo Cloak

    Enhancing magic casting time -X%
    Siegel Sash

    Healing magic casting time -X%
    Iaso Bliaut
    Orsn. Pantaln. +1
    Orsn. Pantaln. +2
    Paean Bliaut
    Vejovis Wand
    Vejovis Wand +1

    Song spellcasting time -X%
    Aneirin's Gloves
    Aoidos' Belt
    Aoidos' Calot +1
    Aoidos' Calot +2
    Aoidos' Earring
    Aoidos' Matinee
    Bokwus boots
    Brd. Slippers +2
    Felibre's Dague
    Mdk. Dastanas +1
    Minstrel's Ring
    Praeco Beret
    Praeco Doublet
    Schellenband
    Sha'ir Manteel
    Sheikh Manteel
    Yigit Gomlek

    Summoning magic casting time -X
    Carbuncle's Cuffs

With all that said, here is what I'm fairly certain should be changed:
    1. Praeco Slacks should be changed to "Cure" spellcasting time -3% to match the rest of the "Cure" and "SpellName" spellcasting time -X% gear.
    2. Capricornian Rope should have the first Cure reduction changed to "Cure" spellcasting time -1%.
    3. Carbuncle's Cuffs should be changed to Summoning magic casting time -1% (if it is a percent, otherwise it should indicate what that 1 means).

After that, it becomes a bit trickier. It appears that for general skill reduction (that is, reduction for a specific magic skill based on the name), the general rule was Skill magic casting time -X%. The last piece of equipment added with a stat like that (Wikyo Cloak), however, appears to be using spellcasting instead of casting. With that in mind, one of the following changes should occur (with the first seeming more likely, since it would normalize everything to spellcasting instead of casting):
    • Elemental magic, Enhancing magic, Healing magic, and Summoning magic should have "casting" changed to "spellcasting".
    • Blue magic and Enfeebling magic should have "spellcasting" changed to "casting".

The "Black magic casting time -X%" and "Song spellcasting time -X%" aren't reductions to a specific skill, but rather a class? of magic. I believe these should also be normalized to use whichever of the above options is picked (casting or spellcasting).

Additionally, although I suspect that "spellcasting" is the intended term, it may make more sense to use "casting" as the description on all the items. Casting is shorter and adding "spell" doesn't clarify what the stat does. In instances like "Enfeebling magic spellcasting time" or "Blue magic spellcasting time", it appears to be redundant (or wrong, cases with Songs and Utsusemi, which are categorized as magic in-game, but aren't really spells).

    Hello, CyrilCade!

Thank you very much for the insightful, well thought out post. I can tell you put a lot of effort and care into it.

Unfortunately, we were unable to get a comprehensive fix in place for the July version update, but this is definitely on our radar for a future patch. We'll keep you updated when we have further developments.

    Thank you again!
