It's not just motion sickness and headaches. I know ppl that lose a lot of FPS from the animation itself. Even with settings turned down it doesn't help them. The game is an Archaic port, still running on DX8 and on only a single core with ppl having all different hardware types.

It's sad ppl complain about others wanting a simple config option request when it doesn't effect them one bit.

No fps loss here, personally, I don't have a monster CPU by today's standards, either.

It's unreasonable to accommodate all conditions and disabilities (especially those like epilepsy that often go undiagnosed because the person has never had a triggering event before); this is why all video games carry warnings about things they might cause. Nobody at SE could have predicted this, and it's too late to completely redesign the job so a few people don't feel sick, and even if they did redesign it, that's no guarantee that somebody else wouldn't feel sick.

wow what short memory you guys have. there was an entire post of people claiming to have adverse effects to the GEO animations and i was one of them. Enough people have spoken out about it already that something needed to be done. I'm glad some of you aren't having normal gameplay effected by these animations but that's no reason to put others down or say they are lying. have some empathy

I for one hope the filter was only the first step. Although i was disappointed it wasn't its own filter. At this point i have given up trying to play GEO. But at least the player > player filter helps me so that other people GEOs don't effect me to badly.

I have empathy- I trust indvidiuals claiming they have issues, but there are people on these forums who exaggerate/dramatize in an attempt to get SE to hear them- I do not believe, given the rough number of people in the world afflicted with these conditions, that a third of an alliance left their group because they felt sick- It is far more likely they left because they thought the auras were ugly or whatever, if the story is true at all. I know all about motion sickness, my brother could not play game boy or read in the car without feeling ill.

Besides- these spell effects should have been included in the filters from the beginning, whether people got motion sick from them or not.

SE has already given explanations, regarding luopan currently not being affected by the filters due to a technical limitation, and it's unreasonable for SE to completely change/redo the effects entirely (though I'd agree with the notion that things like the FPS drop issue should have been forseen- the effects clearly have more optimization.) The framerate drop is probably making the motion sickness issue worse.

It's not that I don't believe it or lack empathy, it's just, this happens every single time an "loljob" is around. Between RUN and GEO, Geo is considered the "loljob" and people will gladly say BS about it in any shape/form just to get away/get them kicked.

Same happened with BLU in 2006, same happened with PUP, same happened with DNC and SCH before updates.

i don't think this has anything to do with the issue, sickness/headaches from effects as a complaint from players is not common, the only time it's happened before is from the "heatwave" effect from fire weather, but fire weather is so rare it didn't effect that many people. GEO isn't being treated as the lol-job currently, it's RUN that doesn't have a place yet. some of the best LSs are already using GEO for new and old content because you would have to be foolish not to see the use behind debuffs that can't be resisted and reapply themselves even after the mob tries to remove them. GEO is a great debuffer and can do that from the mage party.

I want to believe those who say they get headaches or feel ill from the geo/Indi spells, but there are people on these forums who just like to bitch. Also in all of the posts I've read in this thread and on the geomancer section people have never said how long did it take for these effects to take. This isn't the first time a effect from a job or weather has made people get headaches or feel ill. I suffer from motion sickness so I know how these people must feel. The only time a game has made me feel ill is when I'm doing a super high leap of faith in an AC game. Also what I would like to know is how zoomed in is your screen? I personally like to have mine zoomed out to the max. A lot of people who have complained about this have said that the effect was filling the whole screen. To me, that makes me think they're zoomed in a bit...

People have been asking for cor specific filters since the job came out and for brd specific ones even longer. It's not going to happen.

I play GEO often and it even annoys me. There has to be an option in config specifically for geo auras, having your entire screen polluted by this sucks.

Having a personal dislike for the asthetics is completely different of an issue from what the topic is actually about.

It would be cool if you could toggle effects on a per-spell/ability basis, since within each filter category you might still want to see some effects and not others, but that's pretty much a pipe dream.
