    Geo filters

I thought in patch notes they said they addressed this but one has been successful at shutting geo spell graphics off yet.

We have lost 6 ppl out of our alliance as soon as a geo came in due to nausea and if you don't invite them they skill in the middle so it doesn't make a diff ppl still leave.

Sorry if this has been addressed already, if it has I missed it

Config -> Effects -> Make sure "All effects during Battle" is set to off. Turn on Party-> You/Party/Non-Party PC.

Not bothered checking which one of those specifically disables it, but one of them does. Doesn't work on the luopan pets btw, just the Indi- buff that follows the Geomancer. Filters take effect once you exit the filter menu.

Ok I have to seriously ask:

What the hell is wrong with people that these fairly low end particle effects are causing people to be sick? I swear a few are just pissy it's a new job because we had people complain about "annoying constant JA usage" when PUP came out >.>.

I see you're on Asura too, so I'm definitely going with the people just hating lol.

If our Auras and Luopans make you so "sick", eat a Drammamine before playing.

For your Luopan sickness needs, it's Drammamine!

Yeah they've lumped the auras under the other Config | Effects filters. If you don't want to see your own indi-aura, turn on You>You. To hide others' auras, use Party>Party, Non-Party>Non-Party.

I hope they come up with something more elegant for this, like a simpler effect. I don't like missing out on my other spell animation to hide the aura. I'm not bothered by the aura itself. What I don't like is the recreation of it whenever I swap gear. The game is redoing the whole swirl and snap animation as the aura disappears and reappears. Turning the filters on prevents this. I'd be happy if they just nixed that altogether.

6 people out of an alliance to nausea? I don't believe that. I'm pretty sure the number of people affected by motion sickness is less than 1 in 3. Are you fabricating this just to get them to do something? I'm sure there are a few people out there who are genuinely affected by this, but I don't see 6 in the same alliance unless you specifically sought out people with motion sickness. If it was that common, they would have caught it in internal testing because odds would be someone on the dev team would have been getting sick from it.

OTOH.... if this really happened, I'll personally fly out to all their houses and buy them all a case of motion sickness pills.

I've been in multiple alliances on GEO and not 1 person complained. I'm sure if I was making someone feel sick they would say something. The only complaint i've ever had is someone complained that it was making their framerate drop when I was skilling up.

Also... due to a technical limitation currently only Indi- spell effects can be turned off. they were unclear as to whether they could do the same for luopan because they are designed differently apparently.

Hmmm those filters didn't seem to work for me. I still get the effects of indi-spells even when its set to off. The 6 ppl leaving was over the course of a few hrs not an immediate rush out the door. But ppl just made comments as they left.

As for Alhanelem's comment, I don't doubt you don't believe cause you can never agree, and always want to be the troll in any thread you can possibly troll both here and xiv from what I remember. And with that I am not going to talk to you further because I will not argue with you like others tend to just because you have nothing better to do than antagonize ppl and try to start needless drama.

Well, Tahn does have a point.

IRL, I suffer from horrible motion sickness, especially when I try to go deep sea fishing. I take Drammamine for that.

However, I have 99 GEO, and have skilled up alongside other GEOs, and not once have I gotten sick. So frankly, my dear, I say you're full of fecal matter.

I agree with lots of things. Contrary to popular belief, I don't come here for the purpose of disagreeing with everything I see. However, anyone of sound mind and logic and an understanding of what motion sickness actually is and how many people in the world are affected by it would see that the situation described in the original post is extremely improbable. So please take your anti-me agenda somewhere else.

You can find plenty of opinions, suggestions and ideas that i can agree with if you look through the forum. I also leave likes on many threads without posting a comment. You're just fixated on the negativity.

I don't have to justify myself to you, but just in case it makes a difference-

Kind of like people made the comment about PUPs "leeching" whenever you invited them to alliances >.>. As said, I don't think it's that people do or do not believe it, it's just..funny when you think about it. Rune Fencer's particle effects are a lot more prominent than the type Indi/Geoclosures use, yet no complaints.

Yes, Geo is the "loljob" of SoA, but honestly, I've seen only people who talk crap about Geo's say it causes them motion sickness. >.>
