    A question for a GM. (Not a bug/glitch post)

As the title states, this isn't a post to report a bug, I merely want to ask a question of a GM without throwing off his call queue.

Basically, with all this talk of disruptive FC party shouts, I'm curious about Casino shouts. Honestly only one person on Phoenix does this nowadays (I won't name drop), and the shouts are easily blocked by a quick blacklisting, but I recall someone (A GM in fact) suggesting that /random spam goes through blacklist.

So, are Casino shouts frowned upon or due to their being shouts AND their /random spam, as well as potentially shady workings? (I've never actually heard of the guy cheating anyone, but anyone who runs a Casino could cheat their players.)

    Greetings, Kojo!

To begin with, since this was not a technical issue, I have moved it to General Discussion so that it is in the proper section of the forums.

As for the inquiry, I will be happy to try to answer the question. However, I should state up front, there is a lot of uncertain information in your description, so my answer will not contain any absolutes. Additionally, since every situation is investigated and reviewed individually, there may be a bit of ambiguity to my answers to allow for those investigations and results.

There seem to be two main concerns you are bringing up, and I will handle them in turn.

    Casino Shouts:
If there is a shout for a legitimate gambling agreement, we often handle those as any agreements between players when we investigate them. Provided that all terms of the agreement are upheld, they are looked at as player interactions. To prevent there from being disagreements between players, we do recommend ensuring that there is a clear, detailed agreement between the players. This prevents miscommunication from causing a conflict about the results and assists the Game Masters with any investigation.

    Spamming:
If a customer is spamming the chat, either through advertisements or abuse of the random function, that can be determined a violation, although the final decision on if it is a violation is up to the Game Master as a result of the investigation. I am not sure of the type of random spam that you are referring to, though, which could be controlled use of the /random function as a result of individual bets or the wide use of /random due to shouted challenges.

For these or any other concerns, if it does impact your game play, we do encourage you to submit a GM Call through the /helpdesk menu in the game. A Game Master will conduct the investigation and determine if there is a violation of the rules and handle it accordingly.

    I hope this answer helped.

That's pretty much in line with what I was told the last time I asked about this in game (casinos themselves are not a violation as long as the player isn't scamming their customer by not paying what was promised etc, but that excessive chat spam can be a violation)
