Yoshida is aware of all the fan favorites, but he's focusing now on the release of ARR and getting things established before adding new stuff.

He isn't opposed to any ideas, and people have been asking for such classic jobs..but yah, first things first. I'm sure we'll see an incarnation of BLU sometime down the road.

I say give XIV a chance, even without Blue Mage in it. The open beta is ahead, so you can try the game out for free for a bit. Just because you love the job in XI, doesn't mean you would like it if it was in XIV, the game is completely different, so you may end up finding another class/job in that game that you like playing, in that game.
