Well, assuming no 2 pieces over-lap:

    13 TP pieces,
    13 WS pieces,
    13 MAB pieces,
    13 Fast Cast pieces,
    13 -DT pieces,
    13 Eva pieces,
    5-6 idle pieces.

OK, I don't think there are actually 13 fast cast pieces that RUN can equip, but you get the idea. That's 83-84 pieces right there. I'm not sure what other gear sets Darkixion above has that I haven't thought of, or maybe he's including various other grips/weapons that I haven't (I currently have hoarfrost, gram and VIT Tenebreuse, along with platinum grip, rose strap and Uther's Grip) but that's still only 90-91.

my sets include 2 TP sets (1 for /sam with stp, 1 without for various other subs), WS, Idle, PDT, MDT, evasion, enhancing, fastcast, MAB, enmity set, then various selective pieces like cure potency recieved items, the holy water rings, a variation of TP set based on dual weild (suppa, thurandaut hat and alternative haste items to keep capped haste), movement speed, I am sure I am forgetting something but thats what I can think of without logging in to see all my stuff. Weapons of course include 2x enmity axe if dual weilding otherwise I use corbaci for DDing, MDB from the crafted sword for magic tanking (cant think of its name off the top of my head) or the PDT magian GS if there is not a lot of magic involved. I also have the dervish sword if I am not recieving buffs to boost spinning slash.

you don't need to take your /sam sets with you when you're not /sam, nor the DW sets when you're /sam.
same for all situational item: you dont need all of em every time = you don't need to have all of 'em in your main inventory
=> you don't need to carry the 100+piece in main inventory

unless none of your jobs are MDdealer you already have some MAB piece

and for "enrune" damage MAB doesnt affect it :still did rune dmg while double weakened (set mab @0)

I'm intrigued as to what benefit you see from the enhancing set.

Slightly better bar spells? I find I take so little damage from magic that it's not even worth gearing for extra barspell resist, so they would be the first to be taken out of inventory. Unless the enhancing is just for less interrupts?

Phalanx is the major one being that your a paper tank but a little extra to the barspells is nothing to laugh at as you fight higher and higher level mobs.

Everything that I read about phalanx says that it caps at 35 (which I already reached and skill isn't capped yet). Is this not the case? I don't play RDM or PLD so don't know much more about it.

to my knowledge phalanx caps out around 500~ enhancing skill, dont remember what the reduction value was at that point, but if you can reach ~500 enhancing on run without it being capped then you wouldnt need an enhancing set for that purpose I suppose, but seeing as how run has a B- in enhancing you'd need a lot of +enhancing in your normal set to make up the difference, but then I dont know what your set is so you might have it for all I know

It does cap at 35 and 500 Skill, if your not at 500 Skill, it should not be at 35 for you.

OK, I discovered what the issue is with the formula I was looking at... It didn't tell you to take 300 from your skill, therefore allowing you to cap at 203, instead of 503. and the phalanx calculators only use the <300 formula, allowing you to cap at ~370. BG does have the correct formula though and I guess I just stopped looking once I found 1 formula >.>

So, capped + merited skill on RUN gives 31 phalanx, reaching 32 with +11 gear. +40 from gear required to reach 33. I think I'll maybe grab a couple of pieces just to get 32. All those extra gear slots are not worth 3 dmg. Unless we get something with +20 enhancing on AF or whatever. (+5 phalanx dmg reduction in gear would be better, SE... hint hint)
