    Colonization Rate Adjustment

    Greetings,

We've been receiving reports of the colonization rate in Ceizak Battlefields and Yahse Hunting Grounds jumping erratically between 26%→23%→26%→23%, and have been asked if this is normal.

We confirmed that this is normal; however, we’ve decided that it would be better to make adjustments to this and are planning to do so.

To give a clearer idea of what’s going on…

The system was set up so that once the colonization rate exceeds 25%, the percentage will begin to decrease at a quicker pace.

When it reaches 25%, the expectation was that reives and Coalition Assignments would continue to be done at the same pace, but since this is a server-wide effort and there are aspects where differences arise from world to world, we set the value the way it is with a high predicted value in mind.

As a result of looking at the colonization conditions for each world after launch, we will be decreasing the rate that it decreases while also boosting the colonization rate from reives.

We are currently working on these adjustments so that they can be implemented during the version update scheduled to take place at the end of this month.

I hope there's not another "tier" of colonization rate dropping at 50% and 75%, heh.

I just wish Coalition Ranks updated more often.
Shiva ranked up almost every coalition last week, except Mummers' and Inventors'.
THE DAY AFTER, they were ready to rank up, and had to wait a week.

The mindset for higher anticipated colonization rater increase probably would have made more sense if you hadn't limited the amount of times a person can continue to do them with a 6 hour refresh rate and a max hold capacity of 15 at a given time.

A system design where a server wide effort is required for progress works in a growing game. Expansions give more players more things to do when the number of players is somehow managing to overwhelm the 'enemy forces'.

Every new expansion or activity spreads out people more, even if initial surges manage to push back very well.

A proactive system where players must push forward as a server wide effort will fail for the same reasons we never hold Northlands Campaign areas, why we relied on a few people to retake the Astral Candescence when it was lost back at level 75, why the 'revitalizing of old zones' did nearly nothing, and why the Pulse Martellos in Scars of Abyssea areas get stomped constantly.

At the very least, the system needs more variables to account for number of participants, or some way to devote more without that 'more' being time.

A simple example, using Campaign as the base: I have lots of Allied Notes, and nothing to do with them, yet my country can fall to low funding. Could at least let me double my contribution to the war effort by giving the notes back. Just a random-ish thought.

Concerning Colonization and Reives, I've got a question. I noticed that several places I like to hang out in Reives on BST have been adjusted to force me to stand in immediate danger. I'm assuming this is so we can't solo lairs, but is this really necessary? The alternative is to follow around a big group that engages and kills roots as fast as possible, and they only consistently do that at certain times during the day, so doing Lairs solo for assignment credit is one of few options. NA on Leviathan are more interested in running old content and complaining about SoA in the yell channel.
