My advice is to start with something that deals with consumables. Either cooking or alchemy. The items that come from those two crafts tend to move better on the AH. Good luck with post Aby guides. I think I found one on cooking but it was almost the same as most of the pre Aby guides up to level 60. I'm just studying the wiki, looking at ingredients, checking ease of farming and then doing cost calculations. It's pretty easy to figure out which recipes are going to make money, break even or leave you poor.

recipes haven't changed, so the guides are still relevant today. Well, to some degree. Market fluctuations have made some items slow sellers now, but you can check the sell rates for them at the AH site to see if an item is a good one for fast turn around or not (make sure to set your server in the drop list so you get accurate information).

The AH site's Recipes section used to be layed out better for guidance (no longer sorts properly by skill cap level like it used to). You can filter by rank across the top. The old cyclopedia pages still sort well...fair warning though, the bloated scripting there can bog the pages down sometimes. The organisation may be a bit awkward too. Rank is filterable there too (may need to scroll down towards bottom on some pages to find them), and the selected craft's skill cap is shown on the far right column, with any other craft requirements listed on the far left column. Either site takes a little getting used to, but they are handy resources to make shortcuts for on your desktop or bookmark in your browser(s).
