    Disconnection issues

    Hi all,

I'm here due to 1 issue which is somewhat annoying i haven't played since December and made a fresh install however i seem to have a recurring issue where i always disconnect from the game without fail at precisely 16:31 BST and 04:31 BST, i get no R0 for this i play as normal(i can initiate actions talk and see people move) and then i get a black screen with a message along the lines of the connection being terminated.

Ive checked the Task scheduler so far and discovered that Certificate services client always runs at 16:30:51 but this doesn't explain why it d/c's at 4AM either since the task is due every 8 hours. when i check i tin the morning it still shows 16:30:51 as last run.

Anyone have any idea what can be done or similar experience? as i stated above all was OK in December.

    Having disconnect issue aswell.
Every night, between 1 am to 3 am (GMT+1), I get R0, and 9/10 times I get disconnected. Last night, it managed to recover and stay on. There is nothing on my PC that runs during that time, and my router is not rebooting or anything. Its also properly set up with ports.

Another thing, I can play the game actively (as in, not being afk), for an whole day with just a little lag now and then. But when I let my character stand idle in Jeuno for bazaaring items, I get disconnected within 40 mins. It happens each and every time I let it stand idle.
And yes, I have turned off the "Auto-disconnect upon idle" option in config.

Do you still get the same problem if you PC was directly hooked up to your cable/DSL modem?

Check your scheduled tasks to see if you can either disable the task or reschedule it to run on a different time frame to see if it changes behavior.

Else, check your ISP's maintenance schedules. They may be doing something preriodically. TWC is famous for doing this....unfortunatley sometimes when I am playing late on a weekend night too.

Try hooking your PC up to your cable modem and see if you get the same problem.

We would like to apologize for the problems you are experiencing, and we can offer a few suggestions to try to assist you in resolving this problem.

    Suggestions:
    1. Check to make sure you have properly configured or turned off any of the following: Routers, Proxy Servers, NAT Servers, Internet Connection Sharing services.
    2. If you are using any kind of software/hardware Internet Sharing service/device the following ports need INCOMING access to your PC: TCP 1024 - 65535, UDP 53, and 50000 - 65535. Also, check to make sure that the ports mentioned are not blocked by your ISP for INCOMING access. Proper configuration of any of the above items mentioned should be done by following the instructions in the software/hardware manual or calling the manufacturer's technical support.
    3. If you are using a router, and have configured that router for port forwarding, temporarily bypass that router and connect directly to the modem.

Please take note of the following:
    • Proxy servers, and satellite connections are not supported and do not work correctly with FINAL FANTASY XI.
    • Your router may require that you use a PC to configure your network settings. For more information about how to configure your network settings, please refer to the instruction manual that came with your router or contact the manufacturer directly.
    • If your Internet Service Provider (ISP) specifies a DNS server, you need to make sure to configure your settings to allow packets to pass through UDP Port 53 as well. For more information, please refer to the instruction manual for your router or the information provided by your ISP.

If he turn off NAT on his router, he will lose Internet connection. NAT translates a private IP to a public IP and Private IPs are not allow to go over the Public Internet. NAT also lets you have more then one computer have Internet access.
