Perhaps SE would do better then Square. lol

I thought Spirit's Within was amazing for its time. The cost of production and the production that went into it, the story, the script, the humor, the characters represented what Square was good at doing, building character. I think somewhere Roger Ebert said that he wanted to see stuff like this be continued on American shores.
But due to it bombing box office, it wasn't. So sadness all around lol
Also Japanese movies are different from American movies, and I think Spirit's Within played more like an anime, you know with deeper plots and weirder ideas than American studios make.
As for FFXI movie, be awesome to see it happen, I think the cutscenes in FFXI are longer than most FF games.
Yeah they did such an awsome job doing motion capture and animating over it. lol
Oh and FFXI: AC's art direction was freaking amazing. Shows how artistic Square is, wonder why it didn't get nominated for Oscar, probably straight to DVD rules or something.
edit: FF: AC I mean
A think a Chains of Promathia movie would sell better.
Was blown away by the animation, but I honestly thought the story and characters were weak. I watched it for a third time last year and can't remember any of their names...
Same goes with FFXIII imo. Beautiful, but awful characters and plot.
Would love to see an FFXI movie. Would be very interested to see the story played out from start to finish over the course of a few hours (perhaps from the main NPCs points of view), rather than the half-a-decade i's taken me so far. Although not in the way of the in-game cutscenes strung together like Xenosaga did. That was painful to watch.

Do you see this type of camera movement in Alice in Wonderland? I think not.
Well I respect the fact you liked Spirit's Within, but I thought it was horrible. The characters were dull, the plot made no sense. I deffinitely wasted a few hours of my life watching it.
I've never seen advent children, so maybe it was better. It would be hard not to be.
Movie making is a whole different thing than video game making. It's not an easy leap to make, and I do believe if Square Enix is to have any success at it they would need to get some outside talent.
