My gear is not the problem the problem is that a job toted as a tank job cannot take a hit, at all, you lose your shield spells and start taking physical DMG and you die fast. I feel like a weak ass rdm because ATM all we have are enspells and minor shielding against damage. It wouldn\\'t be too bad but NO MOB ONLY USES ELEMENTAL MAGIC.
I mean ffs give us something to work with, I\\'m dieing to worms and lizards that rate a tough at most! Tell me how this job is not a weak as redmage with a GS!? Because ATM its redicoulous how weak the job is and its NOT a tank job as is.
At first I thought you were comparing it to RDM in the sense of it being almost as durable but faster at killing and now I agree with Horadrim about gear, on top of that work on your skills. If you were any kind of RDM soloer RUN shouldn't be hard to figure out. It doesn't have the infinite MP pool or ridiculous Fast Cast that RDM does but it's no joke either.
- I can solo 2 Ceizak Battlegrounds Colonization Reive monsters at the same time as RUN/WHM or RUN/RDM. More than I can do on most of my other DD options.
- I've soloed every monster type in Ceizak Battlegrounds except for the Velkk Torturer (not easy to find to practice so I haven't figured out how to solo it).
- I was able to duo with a BST's Falcorr Long-Bowed Chariot (3/10 gears) without any additional support as RUN/THF. RUN makes Homing Missile seem like a joke with it's buffs up.
I've still not bothered with /whm or /rdm on run yet. Though I'd like to add in that I'm finding RUN to be not as durable as DRG/RDM, nor can it kill as fast. And vs anything of a high level (arch Ultima for eg.) Stardiver does twice the damage of Resolution with a similar damage weapon and similar att/str from gear.
the -10% DEF from Dia 2 helps with Resolution damage and the cures come in handy when you aren't getting reive bonus stoneskin/hp recovery like it's a fire sale.
I haven't been on DRG in a long while but I'll agree on longer durability, only the mantis comes to mind as potentially worse for DRG even then I think I feel that way because my DRG is rusty.
Stardiver doesn't have a 15% attack penalty, slightly higher fTP at 100TP, and DRG gets better WS gear. Also Attack Bonus 2, though RUN/DRK would have that. Reminds me I need to try RUN/DRK... Also DRG/RDM would have Dia 2 for extra boost to attack.
