Final Fantasy XI Linkshell Community Website Overhaul!

I think that the Linkshell Community website needs a big overhaul.

From what I have seen, not many linkshells really use it. Most appear to have their own forums and websites instead.

Most people use it simply to link their character pages to FFXIAH.com profiles.

I think that the character pages are much more useful and important than the forum pages.

You should ditch the forums and focus on the character pages.

First, you need to let people without linkshells, or people whose linkshells have not signed up on the Linkshell Community, post their character profile on it. It would be best if the character pages simply listed the linkshells each character possesses, instead of connecting them to a Linkshell Community page.

Second, the profiles really need to be updated.

For instance, Captain rank from Assault is not shown even when people are Captain rank.

I would also like to see a quest log. One of the things I really like about FFXI is my quest log because I can keep track of what quests I have completed. It would be really nice if there was a list on my character profile showing which quests I have completed, which ones I have active, and which ones I have not yet begun.

I also think that there should be a list for key items like atmas, abyssites, and maps.

The missions should be expanded to include exactly which Assaults, Campaign Ops, and other similar things you have completed.

Synergy is not included on the profile yet.

I am sure there are other updates that people would like to see as well.

People who play MMOs love to show off their stuff. This part of your website would be used a lot more if you made it easier to access and a lot more informative.

The above poster covered all of the topics i was concerned with, so instead of making a new thread, ill just necrobump this one.

My main concern is with adding synergy to the crafts tracked on the community website. It is an integral part of the crafting scene nowadays, and should be updated on the community site. If time permits, a larger overhaul should be done to this site. However, a simple addition of synergy skill level would be greatly appreciated.

I think making it more like the Lodestone would be pretty sweet. Character pages, accomplishments and a personal blog for each player and pages for each linkshell would be good for just general info, but I know most LS's I've been a part of either don't use it or have their own. I liked it back in the day to schedule LS events and I had easy access to see who needed what for CoP, etc. to plan progression.

Lets say you have someone in your ls who makes the page then never plays the game ever again. Guess who has mod rights on your ls community website? Not the Linkshell holder, but some guy who doesn't even play. This desperately needs fixed.

But yeah, it never was too intuitive or even easy for players to use.
I would probably merge it somehow with the forum.
I guess they tried to do something like that with Lodestone, but not so sure if that's how I would do it either...

There are surely plans for the Linkshell community site, but I think it's not of very high priority and there will likely not be any major improvements happening.
There's always hope, I guess, until it's all gone. ^^

Id like to see the LS community profile page updated to. Add more mission/storyline completions in regaurd to the post 75 content.
