Shouldn't be too rough- it's not like there aren't a decent number of treant-type mobs that drop the log in question. People are basically paying a premium to speed things along when the average 99 could go mug a few trees in Bhaflau and come up with a log in short order.

They were back down to their pre-Adoulin price after a week. I paid a slight premium of 7000 gil for mine instead of the rock bottom price of 1000.
