A potential gear snag for the new jobs

Artifact Armor shouldn't be much of a difficulty (and looking at S-E's progress with AF from Original/Zilart to Aht Urghan to Wings, the new jobs' AF should be pretty good) but Relic and Empyrean might well be a difficult chasm to bridge. It was a difficult enough stretch to fit COR, BLU, and PUP into the Dynamis lore to get Relic gear and an even longer reach to get DNC and SCH Empyrean Armor (was there even a Crystal War in Abyssea?). It's safe to say that GEO and RFN may not be able to get Relic (Unless S-E really reaches to extend the Crystal War to Ulbuka) or Empyrean (Does Ulbuka even exist in Abyssea?) Armor sets.

I don't think SE has ever let lore get in the way of doing what they want. That's why we have a gordian knot of incomprehensible time travel/void/alternate universes already in game.

well the major difference between the 2 worlds is during the final battle with promy when it was do or die and everything was on your characters(abysea version) shoulders, you failed and he won.

Since idk how to use spoiler tags on here I put all of it in white text. This is a spoiler alert, if you do not want to know story details behind CoP and Abyssea, don't click over it, if you do, then simply open the quote box or highlight it with your cursor to see it.



Basically the entire story of Abyssea is that in their alternate world of Vana we fought Promathia, rather than winning like in our world we failed. When we failed Promathia absorbed the kid who was earlier basically fused with Phoenix, this turned him into Shinryu, the Wyrm God. Once Shinryu was created... well, honestly thats where it loses me for that part, basically we come in, we kill all of the ZBs which are picking on the residents of Abyssea and then are told about the Cats, so we go kill those too, though I do not understand their origins completely, I assume it has something to do with the Void, and somehow they crossed to Abyssea through the void, but all of that is speculation on my part. We go to fight Shinryu, Prishe sees us and thinks we somehow survived, but we didn't, we are the us from our world, she thinks we are the us from her world, where we were killed, once she notices something is not right she figures out exactly who we are and explains just how Promathia became Shinryu. After you kill Shinryu, Prishe is still an Immortal, unlike in our world, as such she stays on the moon where we fought Promathia/Shinryu and watches over Abyssea from there forever, as she can never die.

Thats so far as I remember, please feel free to correct me on any of that I messed up. Basically though since everything up to the Promathia battle itself is the exact same between our worlds, Adoulin should still exist, as should everything else we did, except perhaps WotG. Aht would have obviously stopped talking to the main lands during all of that, they had their own problems to begin with and were probably destroyed by Odin and Alexander in Abyssea. Since their Crystal War still happened though if Adoulin was at all involved in ours, they would have been involved in Abyssea's as well, and if they were, then that would patch up the holes for their Relic and Emp gear sets. The problem is, we have never really had them mentioned before now so far as I know, so its hard to patch them into the story for the Crystal War, which is what would basically bind it all together.

The info in here could be incorrect, but this is what I remember of it, if I am wrong then please correct me.

I did read it but it didn't make any sense to me, sorry, haven't finished CoP yet (newish player) so that might be why. I think the general consensus is the Abyssea story is weak though. Correct me if I am wrong.
