POL-1154

Hi,
I tried to update FFXI, but I get a POL-1154 error (Problems with the HDD data were detected. Version update failed.).

I ran a file check on FFXI from the POL Login screen and no errors were found.

Any suggestions?

I would have expected to see something like this one the day the expansion went live. I suggest doing a file check via the PlayOnline Viewer to ensure that the data is properly oriented. Please try logging in and updating a few more times; assuming that your internet connection isn't blocking any key ports you should be able to get into the update servers and get started. Are you still experiencing this error code now that it's the second day of the patch?

Thanks for getting back to me. Oddly enough, even though it showed up last night and the file check passed, tonight when I started POL, it doesn't even show FFXI installed. I'm gonna try a full reinstall, I guess.

Well, it looks like the message of a HDD problem might have been actually true. I had a file, patch.cfg.tmp2 that was apparently corrupt - I ran a chkdsk and it cleaned it up. Trying reinstall #2 - I'll let you know if it works
