update continues to freeze on 87.dat
anyone know why or a fix?

oh dear, It sounds like there is something corrupted. I've heard of this error and recall them talking about clearing out a folder to fix it. Might want to scan your HDD for file level errors to see if there is a cross allocation or something got corrupted. Last time I heard about an error like this either the systems HDD was failing with bad sectors, there was file corruption inside the update directory or the HDD was to full to complete the patch. Sorry if I'm no help.

Dunno.
The first of my 3 comps that hit .87 locked up too. It was at 2998 files left at the time.
Cancelled and restarted and it jumped straight past it.
That comp is for some reason now going the fastest of the 3 doing the downloads.
With the main comp being the slowest.
Both other comps went straight through .87 with no problems.(0)nunc est bibendum

wound up just deleting it and doing a force file check
