/WHM leaves you vulnerable to physical attacks and you won't be curing after Astral Flow is activated. If your strategy involves planning to be hit by magic damage, you aren't properly kiting. Melee damage is much more likely.

Mmm, They do have En-Spells on their normal hits don't they? The Enspells if i remember back when i did the fights were almost as much damage as the hits themselves in some cases more-so. Bar-spells would reduce the impact of Enspells far more than 10 DEF and a few VIT could ever reduce the Avatars Physical Hits.

I wish they'd make a tiny adjustment though. Lower perpetuation inside and let you use all avatars. It would make more sense to show your skill in elemental relationships than just have you spam carbies.
Would be too easy if you could use the avatar's weakness in the BC, the challenge is fine, the rewards aren't imo.
Any job level 90 with /DNC can solo the level 65 quested ones. A skilled RDM/NIN could solo melee them at 75.
Just ask for help and you can get them without doing the mini-trials.
Do not do the MINI battles use them as warps to the big battles and Solo them with SMN for gil.
They have enspell damage but it's fairly low, friend on taru smn/rdm with no food managed to melee Titan to death after carbuncle died... Shining Strike'd him for win.

I'll concede on the issue of enspells, as I'm clearly not the expert.All I know is that I stacked +HP gear, Protect, and /PLD def bonus before I was able to win with ease. If I were to ever try again, I'd probably also go find that L8 shield.
