The issue hasn't been a lack of people working or anything weird like that, it's just that they turned them off to ration power. The earthquake disrupted their power grid quite a bit. Many power plants (other than the Fukushima plants) were automatically shut down when the earthquake struck. They likely needed to inspect everything and make repairs, if necessary, to both power plants and the grid before they can start those plants back up. The original estimates were that power rationing was going to last 3-4 weeks or more, although a few days afterwards it seemed that people were rationing well and it wasn't as big of a problem as they thought. I read about a few plants coming back into operation yesterday, but it's otherwise been difficult to find information about it. I'm a bit hopeful considering that they said the reevaluation was only going to be three days after the last one. That's a very short amount of time, all things considered. Either way, they're definitely not going to switch them on at JP midnight, just expect to hear an announcement later today. They may say they're booting them up later today or in the near future, or they may put it off again for reevaluation.

One thing to keep in mind is that Tepco has split Tokyo into 5 groups, and I believe SE falls into Group 5. If power rationing continues, groups 4-5 are set to be left out of the blackouts if at all possible as they are the business wards for Tokyo. Getting 4 and 5 power 24/7 is necessary for a faster economic recovery.(0)

You people need to go play another game today. I've put in a bunch of Civilization V hours the last week.
As I pointed out earlier, you will probably have to wait until 4-5am EST on the 22nd before they announce something.
They're not likely to be at work at midnight in Japan.
Although, I do understand why you guys are hoping they will be.
Also, the notes about what TEPCO has been saying and the MSG servers makes things look up in terms of the game coming back online shortly.(0)
