Yes I agree that they probably did not fully shutdown the servers as they have NEVER lost their power. If you look at the grid they are on (I forget the JP site i was looking at) they have a few hospitals, government buildings & the train station within 2 blocks.

But on another note TEPCO is undecided if they will or won't be doing anymore blackouts. They have been able to produce enough power to keep everyone going (with saving electricity still) and have also just added some more available power a few hours ago.

It will be a coin flip whether SE is going to just flip the switch back on for us or wait it out until Friday (the last day of blackouts that TEPCO announced if they even happen). Japan is recovering a lot faster then anyone anticipated so it is safe to say that we will not be waiting 2+ months but only 1-2 more weeks (worse case scenario)

The people who make decisions like this, the guys in the suits, probably won't be at work at midnight. You likely won't see any notice until about 4-5am EST on the 22nd, which will be about 5-6pm in Japan. That's when they usually post their notices.

Yeah i have read numerous times that people are waiting for an update or servers back online at 12 a.m. JP. I dunno what job they have but man I don't work at that hour. With SE having everyone sent home to be with family & their international workers being sent home by their embassy it may be hard for them to predict when the servers will be back up just due to that fact. Unless they plan on just working with a skeleton crew i feel they will have to wait until power is fully restored so they are actually able to contact all their employees & have their international workers back in the country.

as of the 21st blackouts have been canceled on tepco home page also the blackouts that were scheduled were never for area that would effect servers tokyo itself was immune to scheduled blackouts already.blackouts are only ever been scheduled for residential areas.

Metal gear solid online has been back up since the 15th and there servers are in tokyo too. they went down same time as ffvi & ffxiv but were back up on the 15th
