Arconis I know it's been asked before but where did you get that wonderfull sig? I know you said you've been editing it for years, but is it Powerpoint image or is there a scripted UI somewhere for it? sorry I'm a bit of a dummy when it comes to ths sort of thing.

UmmHmm.. They said they would give a status update on the 22nd JST. From the main SE page, you will be able to see the server status. It continues to show "Partial Maintenance" which I believe means they never shut them off completely, so no Boot-up required. Probably similar to "hibernation/standby mode on a PC. Conserves power, but ready to get back to full power rapidly.

They always show "Partial Maintenance" even when they turn them off and unplug them to move them. It's just the wording they use to say "You can't log in".

One thing to keep in mind is that Tepco has split Tokyo into 5 groups, and I believe SE falls into Group 5. If power rationing continues, groups 4-5 are set to be left out of the blackouts if at all possible as they are the business wards for Tokyo. Getting 4 and 5 power 24/7 is necessary for a faster economic recovery.

If only. It'll likely be april before the servers go back up. And you won't be getting an exact date until probably a few days before.

I wish they guaranteed us that servers would be up again on the 22nd but too bad it'll just be another update to keep us all posted as the others mentioned here. Prepare for them to say that FFXI will be down for at least another week and that's when they may update us again.

Its all going to matter on how Japan's power issues are.
The plants are stabilizing as many articles have told online and from the Governor.
Its just all a matter now of how the plants with power are doing and if the next cable being installed to power the others to stabilize them goes. (Which they said will be installed and hopefully working any day now.)
The main point I think that is keeping SE from launching the servers again is the lack of energy.
Japan is still issuing controlled rolling blackouts as of today due to a lack of energy to power everything.
With the other plants coming back up soon the rolling blackouts should slowly phase out.

But think about it, it would be a pain in the ass if they launched the servers, but had to shut them down again due to a blackout coming around in their area.

SE probably wants to launch the servers with intent to be able to keep them up and not have to shut them down.

Bad news, servers might not go up on the 22nd.
Good news, servers will be up soon.

Japan is recovering pretty quickly from this horrible disaster.
