I would like remind all of you, that this thread is about the difficulties in the North American store, not the EU one. Please keep the topic on the apropriate subject.
The music box is back when you try to order...
SE, doubling the price on us is in no way a resolution to the problem that persisted. This goes beyond poor customer service. I am coming to you, the reps on this board because SE customer service just brushes the subject aside. If you're not cappable of handling this, then who is?

Bait and switch come to mind.
If individuals recived a listed and advertised price, then other individuals would tried to order at that price and were deined access, have a right to that price as well.
And how can the pricing shown be such a small error that you're trying to make it out to be? It wasn't that someone accidently typed in 19.99 instead of 39.99. The 39.99 was crossed out, the 19.99 was placed next to an additional icon that said "promo price" and it said "you save $20."
This thead was started about the NA.STORE.square-enix.com, not the eu.store.square-enix.com. Hence the difference. Being flooded with a different issue only detracts from the issue at hand. here are already a multitude of threads about the EU order issues that are being ignored, we don't need them to start ignoring this thread too because of it.
if SE or any of their authorized retailers actually advertised the product as 19.99 they would in fact be legally obligated to provide that price to ANYONE who provided proof of having seen the advertised product of 19.99. since SE has actually put out an admission of fault, they have now removed the need for evidence of the advertisement. all one would simply need to do is to state that they purchased the game, or intended to purchase, due to the lower advertised price and SE would legally have to provide the product at that price. so anyone who was willing to pursue SE legally would actually win the case. now nobody in their right minds is going to waste thousands upon thousands of dollars to take SE to court over 20 bucks.
small and short is: if SE tries to charge you more than what you initially paid for a product as advertised, then they are breaking the law, which at that juncture they would be legally liable for a number of lawsuits that would be worth pursuing. SE has a legal team specifically for dealing with debacles like this so i doubt they'll be asking for their 20 bucks back at any point in time.
I read somewhere if there was an offer for the expansion at 19 dollars it was a glitch, where was it announced? or was it simply showing up as 19 dollars when you tried to buy it.
@ kirito When i was checkin out i had 4 items in my list there. the expansion, the soundtrack, the beret code and the shirt code. and anywhere afterward had them listed as well. are you sure you got the collection and not the regular expansion which doesnt come with the bonus items? as the music box thing and the expansion dont come out til later i assume i will get a further email on how to get them when its time.
I feel bad for you EU guys, hopefully SE gets their **** together. feels weird they arent havin a pre update update as they usually do for expansions, no?
Yesterday during the live Seekers stream I asked in chat if anyone got the discounted price, but it seemed like no one did. I explained the issues we had but most people just commented it was a glitch and forget about it.
Today I got a reply from an inquiry I sent to digitalriver. It seems like a simple "generic reply"... there is no resolution.
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting the Square Enix online store.
The Square Enix online store strives to offer the products at the lowest
available prices. Unfortunately, if the discount is no longer availalbe,
its possible that the promotional offer is already expired. We have
reported this to our management, please kindly check the online store
from time to time to see if
the promotional discount will be extended.
Sincerely,
Christian F.

So, I take it we either pay the full price and feel bitter about it, or check for a sale in a few months when sales start to dwindle... Guess it was too good to be true after all.
Also I pre-ordered on the 8th of February from the Square Enix Online Store via Digital River, yet I hear everyone now talking about receiving codes for the music box/beret/shirt in game items, yet I've received nothing of the sort. Am I boned for pre-ordering earlier than everyone else?Thank you for contacting SQUARE ENIX support,
At this time we would strongly suggest keeping your current pre-order as the current price is 39.99 USD. Please also keep in mind that the price my fluxuate and if you wish to have that price you will need to cancel and re-order to get this price unless otherwise noted. We hope that this information has been both helpful and informative.
Thank you for contacting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center.

I did the same thing, pre-ordered as soon as it was possible and there was nothing about any promo items or music boxes. I'm not too outraged about it though, what really bothers me is the Xbox copies are not digitally available so I have to wait around for a few weeks while everyone else gets to have fun.
