    thinking upgrading my PS3 to new one just came out I was hopeing it work on ffxi?

    They took out backwards compatibility a long time ago.

    Only models CECHA, CECHB, CECHC and CECHE are able to play PlayStation 2 games. No PS2-compatible PS3 has been manufactured since 2007 or so.

    Meanwhile, Seekers of Adoulin will not be released for PlayStation 2 in English regardless.

    Ziyyigo-Tipyigo is correct with all of his answers in regards to this issue. Additionally, Final Fantasy XI on the
    PlayStation 3 additionally is not supported by SQUARE ENIX and we would be unable to assist with any technical issues that may arise from using the PlayStation 3.
