Yup and I'll end up having to pay almost 20$ more for than the compilation just for the expansion. Darn SE and their laziness to ship to stores in other countries. If they'd sold in stores like Gamestop they might revive the game with fresh new players. At the moment it's more geared towards people who play it since you have to know about it to find it.
.
I don't think its laziness it costs them money to get in to retail
Which they would probably make back tenfold if they had it advertised and sold in gaming stores. I mean currently only 3 places sell it, the SE store, Amazon.com and possibly Steam. The only people who will buy are the people who play this game already. They won't get any new customers the way they are doing it now.

I agree, I know a lot of Final Fantasy fans myself who have never really heard about FFXI or knew it was a MMO till I told them. After that they could never get ahold of it because they couldn't find a place that sold it for Xbox, which is all they had at the time. Were it sold in stores, most or all of them would have picked it up and started playing, but instead, nothing. If SE put it in a store like Gamestop I am sure people would come in to look at games and see it on the shelves, and they would probably buy it. The fact its Final Fantasy is enough to get fans to at least buy and try the game, which is profit for SE. The only problem with it is if people looked into how the game is atm, it lacks a lot by compare to what people would expect, fixing those issues would make putting FFXI back on shelves very worth it I think.
3 weeks or so left and still no actual information...
jsyk they call it FINAL FANTASY® XI Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition, it might not be a collector's edition, but not really worth pointing out. The word collection is in the title, i think its forgivable.
anyone who has pre-ordered know if the bonus items will be a code per item? and please no past experience wiht the last collection as i bought that and i know how it worked, i want to make sure before i decide to order a collection with the regular version of this expansion for both my characters. my newer character has the hat already so if i can use the hat on my main and the shirt on the new guy i will be happy.
Given the rarity of the 360 copy and its expansions, I'm surprised they're not trying to at least push out the Seekers Editions to stores as an "all-in-one" starter/reinstall solution.
Their marketing for this game has always been pathetic. I do remember a few advertisements back in the day when it first came out (I think?), but recently, there hasn't been anything. If they trash 14 and use its "resources" to promote one game instead of two, they'd make a hell of a lot more money.
I don't get why they wouldn't at least have a limited supply for Gamestop and Amazon. They could send enough to fill whatever pre-orders they get and a bit extra for possible new subscribers.
Maybe I should go bash my head with a brick so I can think like SE management does.![]()
