Fighting Chocobos goes back much further than just 13, or 12, they appear in battle as early as 7 if I remember correctly, though I forget if they fight back or not. Also, Chocobos have been popping up in combat as allies for some time as well, to see them on the other side of the battle should not be so foreign.

More recent games have had Chocobos as common enemies, this is talking about adding them in our most recent expansion, in a setting where it makes sense, a rare opportunity in this games lore surrounding Chocobos. I think it would make sense to add them, not only in game, but also as they have been doing it more often in recent games, and the fact they are a breed of enemy which would be new, unique, and probably easier to do than brand new enemies. Another thing that makes this appealing is that if added, it would open doors for some more interesting things, Chocobo Knights with Chocobos in combat, BST being able to charm them, BLUs being able to learn from them.

Chocobos are cute and Brutus taught us about wild chocobos and they are the brothers and sister of our tame chocobos,

I REFUSE TO KILL A CHOCOBO!

*you should all be ASHAMED of yourselves!!!*
A agree sort of. If it's HP reaches a low point it could always run away! Making them nearly impossible to kill. You know how the mobs in campaign become invincible when the battle ends and they warp away? This is how wild ones should be.

This would be a flee ability.

Also if traded gash greens at 25%-50% HP it cause the charm effect, making it a pet or allowing you to mount it (IF you have the key item chocobo mount). When it's successfully charmed it's treated as a win so blu can still get the ability/exp. I would assume that unless you're a BST the charm would be like the bard charm. In any case if the charm effect runs out or it's hp gets below 24% it would always run away instead of attacking it's master.

One thing to note fairies never existed in the present until something happened in the past that helped them exist in the present. People trades bottles at a location. The same could be done for chocobos where players trade eggs to nesting locations. Another chocobo comes along and takes it to a secret location to raise it. By doing this it creates chocobos that spawn wild versions randomly across the server. Lets call this quest chocobo re-population.

Just like the way fairies started appearing these could BIPASS game lore by giving the players the opportunity to repopulate the world with wild chocobos. It in this case it doesn't need to be reserved to the past because eggs are hatched in the present.
