I really want to know why you assume this. If you look at most other MMOs content gets outdated on a regular basis and it hasn't affected the long term viability of those games.

Assuming other MMO's are the same as each other, You should go back to WoW. FFXI has always been different from "Other" MMO's. That is what makes this genre of an "MMO" unique!

"New players" are formed into "Members"

That being said look how it is now within FFXI ATM, Grabbing a New Player and having them leech in Abyssea hoping they have keys...LOL? <New players are more likely to go AFK w/o saying>
Why not just look on your Friend list, check your LS or use that /sea all <Username> to try and find that someone you met 4-10 days ago, That's been playing FFXI as long as yourself, Have Them join in rather then picking up a New Players?

If your Friend is new, Teach them the proper tools as to how to play FFXI and not just show them how easy it is now a days, Show them to treat other as how they want to be treated. Part of the quest, mission and journey within FFXI is to make friends and have a good time.

"Other MMO's"

If a said another MMO has something you like/love a lot to which FFXI does not and that person complains about it over and over again, Go play that other MMO. "A person don't need to keep making Threads w/ different names on them talking about that same thing"

"Members/Players not seeing the big picture"

There are some people out there that don't understand things and neglect to read things through and come off "Closed Minded" Some are very Defense and thinks everyone is out to get them. These Members needs to chill out.

World of warcraft: Not knocking it I've played it and its totally not the same as FFXI.

I have never played WoW and really have no desire to and I can guarantee that I have been playing FFXI longer than you have.

I like how the game is always evolving. Only real complaint I have is the ps2 bottleneck. Unfortunately some of my best friends on the game use ps2 and I dont want them gone so getting rid of that is not an option in my opinion.
Eventually even those will no doubt be replaced so maybe SE can start to get away from ps2s altogether.

The whole reason SE just raised all the exp lvls in the older areas was to get people back to lvling out there. Many of the parties I have been in during the last rew weeks have gotten 600-800 exp per kill. Of course, the turnover is not as fast as Abyss but its at least 3 times faster than the old days. They know the game is doomed in the long run if people don't get back into the bigger sense of the whole game.

I do as well have friends and family playing FFXI on PS2 they would upgrade if they had to though, I understand some like their PS2 and don't want to part with it but if its in the better means to make FFXI better I would choose FFXI over PS2.
Seeing that a lot not "All" PS2 users complain about money and not having it to upgrade how did they get the money to buy a PS2 in the 1st place is my question.

I Would like to know how some new players feel, About going into a party and leader says: Hey we have a PL (Power leveler) or hey come join this Abyssea party be a "Keywhore" and "Leech" XP is that all your worth?

Keywhore: Said Leader making a party for Abyssea and they don't want to focus on "Chests" give it to a newbie "New Player" how does that make you feel really?

PL (Power Leveler): All you have to do is wack wack XP XP level level <Game over> and that's fun?

Give a person a fish or teach them how to fish?
