High Received values / lag in new areas

    Platform: PC
    ISP: Comcast
    Type of Internet Connection: Cable
    Internet Connection Speed: 20MB/s
Date & Time: 8~10PM EST, Monday and Wednesday every week for the last 6 months
    Frequency: Always
    Character Name: Byrth
    Race: TarutaruM
    World: Lakshmi
    Main Job: Scholar
    Support Job: Black Mage
    Area and Coordinates: Maquette Abdhaljs-Legion
Party or Solo: Alliance with 18 people
Monster Name: Paramount Harpeia, Paramount Naraka, Paramount Mantis, Paramount Ironclad, Paramount Botulus, Paramount Gallu
    Steps:
    * We entered Legion from Rolanberry Fields
    * Immediately some people have connection problems. One member DCs when we zone in frequently.
    * We enter the chamber (the worst problems seem to be in Hall of Mul, although I have noticed this in the other halls as well - We do later waves of Hall of Mul most frequently).
    * The initial fights in this zone are generally okay, but when Wave 2+ start spawning the lag gets worse.
    * Many members experience constant R>2000 with spikes over 4000.

Though we are still successful in Legion, this hurts our performance. Our melee have started eating HP food because they cannot take advantage of defensive equipment if they lag at the wrong time. Our Scholars stand around in stunning gear because they cannot rely on the game to change equipment in the lag. We stopped using Summoners and have 1 pet job at most to try and reduce the lag, but it seems to do nothing. We have all tried "File Check" and it again does nothing.

At first I just assumed that this was caused by my connection, but similar problems do not occur in older and similarly large fights. Similar issues have been reported by some in the new Salvage areas, though they are fine for me personally.

If people have issues in the new Salvage zones or also have this issue, I would encourage you to copy this post and personalize it for yourself, then resubmit it.

Of course you will have high receive values. If you didn't, you wouldn't be seeing peoples gear be swapped, or spells go off.

I'll agree with the lag though!

I've noticed this in Legion, and Odin v2 since the last update. Seems pretty random also happening to people regarless of console or pc or ISP.

    Hello Byrth,

Thank you for your post. I understand your concerns about lag and connectivity issues in Legion and appreciate you bringing them to our attention. We certainly want to do our best to assist in making your gaming experience as good as it can be and I know how latency problems can affect a game's playability. As this concern is not specifically related to a bug, it will be able to be better addressed in our Technical Support forum where concerns dealing with connectivity can be looked at by the correct department. I have taken the liberty of moving your thread, and hope this helps expedite a possible solution.

    Thank you,

    -Verytus

I too have experienced this lag in Legion. It causes weird delays from when I press a spell macro to when I actually start casting, and very often there is nothing telling me that my character is actually doing anything at all - meaning nothing in chat log indicating I'm casting, no casting animation, no casting progress bar being displayed. Eventually I will get a chat log message saying I have cast the spell, but by that time I've been pressing my macro again and again because I'm not sure if I'm actually casting or not. These 2 issues are enough to hinder my performance as whm in Legion (which is the job I have used for 99% of all Legion runs I have been a part of). It's also been happening in all the halls.
