In Game Stuttering While Moving Around

Ok so I did quite a bit of research on what the problem could be. People say disabling QoS packets, disabling HID, turning off unused networks etc and none of them works for me.

This is not my video but this is what happens to me:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciJ2tqQVY9E

    I have 2 GTX 480M's with a 310 driver in sli
    A i7 x980 3.33 Ghz processor
with a screen resolution of 1920x1080

I know the computer can handle the game easily so its definitely not the hardware which leads me to believe that its some sort of networking problem (i have a 50mb connection but as with anything with networks a bottleneck is still a bottleneck)

Altho I have read somewhere that a GPU can actually render faster then the game can keep up with so that might cause the stutter. What was really odd is that nvidia does not support ffxi in the drivers. I say that because older games like Jet Moto (yes they released it for the pc haha) which is waaay older then ffxi is on their as well as even ffviii and a lot of other "older" games.

Anyway I'm open to any suggestion. Just please, don't say it may be because your graphic cards are failing or something like that. I know 100% for a fact its not a hardware issue concerning the GPU or CPU because most games which require far higher specs then ffxi can easily be run on my computer.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I believe this is because FFXI doesn't fully utilize the graphics card hardware. Your device was created after directx 8/9 and this is what FFXI was initially run on. It my also be that your data memory bus is limited somehow or your running low on memory. I have this same problem when I'm in a zone with a lot of players or my latency is higher then average.

It could be many things. To many apps running, lag or video isn't optimized. Could also be malware or a virus. I also heard Sli mode has issues with FFXI but It's only rumors.

Whats your latency can't tell from the video?

It doesn't matter if you are on a 100gb connection. If the latency is high or packets are being dropped/lost you'll bounce around like this.

I get the exact same stutter on a GTX460 and 3.2GHz C2Q, even when both cpu load is well below 25% and GPU load is barely even registering in GPU-Z. It might be because of vsync combined with the framerate of the game being ~29.4 fps, which doesn't line very nicely up with 60hz (or 50, 75 or 120hz either for that matter) monitors. I don't think it is possible to avoid this without SE letting the game run at higher framerates.

We do apologize for the problems you are having with the game. The lockup / crash you are experiencing could be caused by a video card or display related problem. When you encounter a video card or display related problem, please check to make sure of the following:

    1. You have a compatible video card, check system requirements on the game packaging or www.playonline.com
    2. You have the latest video drivers in the correct language and for the correct operating system.
    2a. nVidia - http://www.nvidia.com
    2b. ATI - http://www.ati.com
Additionally, please make sure that DirectX 9 is fully up to date.

Finally, We would like for you to disable all non OS essential processes on your system temporarily for troubleshooting purposes. Please press the Windows Key and "R", then in the dialog box type msconfig and press OK. Select the startup tab and choose Disable All. Once this is completed select apply and then restart your system. After which we would like you to try playing the game again to see if the issue persists. Specifically we would like for you to make sure you have temporarily disabled any processes related to anti-virus or firewalls for testing purposes. If you have trouble disabling these processes, please try temporarily uninstalling them for testing.

If none of these fixes resolve your issue, please reply back with you Direct X Diagnostic so that we may look into your system configuration.
