Allow Blue Mage to nuke with TP

The title says it all, I think a little nice twist to the blue mage would be if they could nuke with TP instead of MP similar to how dancer heals people, of course this would happen with an ability that converts MP cost to TP cost, and physical spells would benefit more from this.

    1.) Bestial Modification
    -Level: 15
    -Job: Blue Mage
-Effect: Converts the MP cost of your spells to TP .
    -Recast: 1 minute
    -Duration: 2 hours

Wouldn't this cause issues with the positional nature of the job?

Well or they could even create a job ability that allows you to switch visa versa, so if your buffing the DDs you can use TP and stay in the frontlines with them, or if you want to help your fellow mages just keep the original source of power and nuke them to death, the luopans will also help a bit with this.

The job already has some unique casting mechanics, I don't think it needs to be further complicated by flipping between TP and MP.

I think the positional and directional nature of the job is going to be enough complication at first without worrying about TP and MP simultaneously. Then again, it doesn't sound like a horrible merit or late-level concept. For now, I'd like to see how the Indicolure and Geocolure trade-off works first before thinking about gaining TP.

Actually now that I think more about it I agree let geomancers keep there directional casting, and perhaps blue mage could get an ability that allows them to convert the MP cost of spells to TP I mean they are part melee and part mage.

Blue mages already use TP as part of their job, both for weapon skills and certain spells.

They do, but the aspect could be improved and expanded a bit; after all they are the TP move mage.

Because we'd want another cloth job on the front lines? I don't get it. We don't use DNC as main healers.. why would we want a yaoi-bell wielding nut mage dishing out party buffs, when the purpose of luopans is to create a ground targetted area of effect that would eliminate their need to be within range of mob?

As an aside, with all that position changing, GEO better get a fair amount of movement gear on their AF/JSE!

    *Edit*

Ahh you caught me.. Title says GEO.. but thread implies BLU. Not sure to which you are referring. BLU doesn't need to be magic nuking outside of Abyssea, except for proc, which they don't need to do in any quantity that would impose a hefty MP penalty to them. Also, for any situation BLU would nuke in, they would be.. using and swapping staves.. so no TP.

So yeah, for either job, bad idea sir. Sorry.
