Unless they made it a book buff with a timer that took away prowess effects when it wore off?
However with boss fights that had their level caps lifted, it would be nice to have the option to have the old level cap imposed when entering the fight.

Each person is an individual being, capable of independent thought and unique emotion, deserving respect, dignity, and compassion in all things, at all times, and in all places.
To do anything else denies the self of its humanity.
Or just add more places with fire weather with a wider range of mobs and higher level ranges. Syncing yourself down, whether by yourself or with someone else doesn't really solve the problem of there just isn't enough of it to go around. You shouldn't have to sync down at all to find valid targets for your trials.
From the looks of it, Audolin is probably going to have some places where fire weather makes sense.

I haven't done a fire weather trial beyond the elemental staff trial but I must say light weather is the hardest one to come by. Even though I am finished with my magic evasion dagger, I would like to see more auroras in the game. The ones they display in Qufim look a lot like the pictures my father took of the northern lights back when we were stationed in Alaska. I was just a kid back then, but to this day I think it's probably one of the most beautiful natural sights to behold. I really have to give them kudos on the light weather effects.

Light weather is rare, but there also isn't the same demand for it in terms of trials that people want to do. But as with Fire, adding more places where it can happen / more kinds of enemies in those places is far better than having to limit ourselves to a certain level to be able to make progress on something.
This is true, I guess I failed with trying to support your point by my rambling tangent.
I think having places where we can choose to impose a level cap or not (like a unique dungeon and/or old content boss fights) has the potential to add dimension and variety to the game. However, I do agree with you that level synching shouldn't need to be the answer in completing the Magian Trials. Instead I would rather see an increase in weather patterns, an increase of zones containing weather patterns, and/or greater variety of target mobs in the existing weather patterns.

I vote for more fire weather in addition to setting your job level down!
Light weather isn't in high demand? Bovine Scatology.
That's... a colorful phrase. lol
I don't know about other servers, but I do know on Siren that light geodes still run fairly high - not as high as flame geodes mind you, but still more than I would have liked to have paid but for some reason was really hard for me to get on my own. The game seemed to prefer giving me carbites out the wazoo instead and I was usually stuck farming for them during Lightsday. ; ;

really, you think it would take a lot of programming, somehow I doubt it would considering we have level sync now, all it would really take is adding level cap trials to the FoV and GoV books, and somehow I doubt that would take that much considering other things in the game use similar, like using a manual to upgrade a weapon, when you go to the spot to pop the mob it level caps you, you might not notice it but it does, somehow I don't think it would be that difficult to add capped trials to the books
and what is pointless for you is not for others, look at the sheer amount of people who just stopped doing Campaign Battle, but people still use it, also look at things like Moblin Maze Mongers, hardly anyone I know does that anymore as well, but its still there, and somehow I think capped trials would be used often just for fun
what else is a complete waste of the devs time? lets see I could probably come up with a whole list of things, but they were done and are in the game, many people still cry foul at the level cap being removed from CoP but that was done and somehow I doubt that took a lot of programming either

Try to have fun or it isn't worth playing
