Unable to Log-On with 1 of 3 accounts

    All,

I have a crazy issue where I login as normal. I get into POL, but as it's about to list who is on from my FL it kicks me off POL, with POL-0006, then retry gives POL-2059, then asks me to log-in again. I have no routers etc... it's just via a wireless USB modem

I've tried file checks POL and FFXI, found nothing. However using the same POL/FFXI installation, I am able to log-in to my other 2 accounts with no issues or POL errors. Somehow POL is corrupted to my main character, which makes no sense to me. This has gone on for 2-3 days now. This has worked via this modem until this time.

If I had corruption issues of POL, would think my other chars would be blocked as well. I dread reinstalling the game as I really don't think that is going to help.

    Any advise?

We would like to apologize for the problems you are experiencing, and we can offer a few suggestions to try to assist you in resolving this problem.

    Suggestions:
    1. Check to make sure you have properly configured or turned off any of the following: Routers, Proxy Servers, NAT Servers, Internet Connection Sharing services.
    2. If you are using any kind of software/hardware Internet Sharing service/device the following ports need INCOMING access to your PC: TCP 1024 - 65535, UDP 53, and 50000 - 65535. Also, check to make sure that the ports mentioned are not blocked by your ISP for INCOMING access. Proper configuration of any of the above items mentioned should be done by following the instructions in the software/hardware manual or calling the manufacturer's technical support.
    3. If you are using a router, and have configured that router for port forwarding, temporarily bypass that router and connect directly to the modem.
    4. Wireless connections can tend to cause issues with connecting to FINAL FANTASY XI. Attempting to connect on a wired connection might resolve the issue.

Please take note of the following:
    • Proxy servers, and satellite connections are not supported and do not work correctly with FINAL FANTASY XI.
    • Your router may require that you use a PC to configure your network settings. For more information about how to configure your network settings, please refer to the instruction manual that came with your router or contact the manufacturer directly.
    • If your Internet Service Provider (ISP) specifies a DNS server, you need to make sure to configure your settings to allow packets to pass through UDP Port 53 as well. For more information, please refer to the instruction manual for your router or the information provided by your ISP.

    1. Have you tried creating a new account profile for that account in playonline viewer to get online?

    2. Have you tried deleting the account profile and recreating it on your play online client to get online?

    WARNING!!!!

This is NOT the character data or Content ID's it's just the playonline account profile selection listing account log in information.

You know the part that list the player accounts when you select what ID to log on. Maybe that has some corrupted files in there. The file checker won't find these because they are playonline custom configuration files like email, settings, viewer preferences etc. If one of those files is damaged for that account profile when you get online it can make the viewer unstable.

You could at least try #1 creating another profile with a different name linked to the same account. If you can log into the new one then it means something in a personal setting file was damaged. It'd probably be best just to delete that selection if the new one works.
