    Skill up tips and tricks

Ok so much talk about bots and what not lets all share some of our sans-bot skill up tips to help the new players, the dedicated and (lets face it) the lazy.

    I will begin

    Bard Singing/Harp/Wind

Bard song skill ups are some of the fastest/easiest magic skills to get.

Find a mob the right lvl for your skill > Lullabye > threnody > threnody > threnody > threnody > ok ok you get the point > mob wakes up > Lullabye > repeat

I did this on my original char and the skill ups flew up at an amazing pace. And once you get high enough (150+) you can sleep the marids in aby - ule and use this tactic with little threat since they move at such a slow pace so even if they dont sleep with the first song you can easily stay far enough ahead of them to recast.

If you need to /rdm for phalanx and stoneskin so you get fewer casting interuptions between Lullabyes if they mob wakes up.

    Healing magic

Another easy one to lvl. Undead (undead besieged is absolutely fantastic for this) just create a macro for cure and instead of /ma "Cure" <stal>, make it /ma "Cure" <t>

Find some undead and spam cures on them for super fast and easy healing magic skills.

    Blue magic

This works to about mid range (job lvl 60ish or skill lvl 200ish)

Go to Alt"Taieu and find the Ul'hpemde (aka the dolphins), they will follow you around without attacking. /rdm for refresh and cast all forms of enfeebling blu spells on them. Anything works that does not cause damage. They will just sit there and take it, eventually they will bore and wonder away. Just run in front of them to get their attn and repeat. This will get you high enough that you can easily get near 90 cap just from hunting your spells (bludgeon bludgeon bludgeon) here after. And them going from about 90-99 cap is super easy in vw.

    Hope this helps!

    Whats your non-bot tips?

Oh let's see... back before Lupa broke the lv75 limit we were helping her skill up parry. We camped down in the Boyhada Tree and pulled the black mandies down in there. She would tank them while Uloulo and I spammed buffs and cures on her. Uloulo's Animus spells (Minuo on him and I and Augeo on her) were awesome for keeping hate on her during this project.

She nearly reached the lv75 cap doing this and it was before the skill up rate adjustment made to Parry. Uloulo and I made good progress during that time as well. Both of us capped Enhancing Magic with buff spamming, using spells like the Animus ones, Haste, Regen, and Storms while farming gold chests in Abyssea.

The biggest thing with Enhancing Magic is pick out spells that have the shortest duration and then reapply them as soon as they are down. If you are using haste to do this, your party will love you. lol

Each person is an individual being, capable of independent thought and unique emotion, deserving respect, dignity, and compassion in all things, at all times, and in all places.

To do anything else denies the self of its humanity.

Healing spells can also be skilled up nicely with sufficient gear to modify your maximum HP.

On yourself, up your HP as much as possible with the gear in question. Heal the "damage". Swap the gear off to -lower- your HP max as much as possible, then re-equip it. Repeat- and when MP is low, duck into your Mog House to restore it.

High level friendly NPCs in Besieged or Campaign are also excellent targets for this treatment, if you've got MP to burn. A friendly high-level BLM is often quite good as a target for this, especially if they're using certain items that require low HP to activate the latent, like the Sorcerer's Ring.

I keep thinking of more >< lol

This one is good for a thf/dnc/nin who wants to cap eva, I guess perhaps this would be good for guard or parry as well but I havent tested it on those.

If you have a whm friend willing to help, go to Aby - Ule and pull Awahando, the mite nm. He is easy to kill on thf/dnc/nin and uses hundred fists often, plus hits super fast. He will take you all the way to 99 cap so as long as you have someone that can keep you alive the eva skill will pour in super fast. I wouldnt suggest it until your skill is at least around 200 so your mage doesnt have to spam too many heals or run out of mp. This secondary nice thing about this is you can also cap your katana/dagger skill during the fight.

When we did this on dnc thf and nin everyone capped their eva/dagger/katana skill in just a few fights, and that was without skill food/accessories and before the skill up adjustment.

Leveled BLU to 75 before cap break, and was always creating self-skillchains. I remember being in a colibri party where I would self-Gravitation and BA MP Drainkiss a lot of mp back due to monster correlation.

tl;dr: Didn't have to spend much time skilling up.
