Yes, but due to PS2 limitations a ps3 port would not be possible at this time.

Steps:
Besides nearly complete game freeze during some Campaign battles (especially those with lots of mage NPCs), Abyssea parties, and the occassional black out during Besieged, this issue is occuring during the Windurst [S] Mission "Howl from the Heavens." After defeating the four waves of enemies, I click the wall outside Windurst [S] for the next cut scene; however, after a few moments the game completely black outs.

I greatly look forward to a remedy toward this issue.

*Effects filter broke ( even with all filters on still see other peoples magic causing lag )
* San d'oria lag , right in the corner of leathercraft guild ( synergy cubicle seen to explode causing lag even when there is no one there )
*lots of blackouts , at least 2 a day ( no need to be in a party or alliance got couple back outs just walking around jeuno and san d'oria others in dancer af body cs and pashhow S voidwatch cait sith cs ).

I found my original post so i'm gonna copy and paste it here.

Problems with PS2 cutscenes

I was watching the cutscene for Wings of the Goddess mission Purple, the new Black pt 1 and right when the demon shots a civilian with a fire spell it went pitch black and I was unable to play the game afterwards. I reloaded and tried it again and same thing, then I went onto my pc version and was able to watch the whole cutscene with no problems.

It was mentioned in that thread that the problem has existed for a few years prior to me posting this message in 2011. This really is unacceptable. I understand the skeleton crew and how difficult and time consuming everything is, but this problem predates that. How about this, I keep seeing all these contests and such being posted on the forums, and honestly I'm getting sick of all this side nonsense while the game remains in tatters. Also rethink your prize selection for mog bonanza, seriously. Ark weapons should be rank 5. Also My internet connection is really strong. 55 ms ping, 8-18 mbps download speed and 1.3-2.0 upload speed, yet I keep getting lagged out in jueno and only since the update.

In my experience, all they'd have to do is take a PS2 into Pso'Xja. The entire zone seems borked and unplayable.
