Could probably be done without any additional memory cards. The console utilizes discs that fit up to 25 GB, so all current expansions plus adoulin could be stored on one disc. The console comes with 8 GB or 32GB if you have the premium version. The console could load music and stages from the disc, and use a few gigabytes of internal memory to cache gear and mobs dynamically based on what the player most commonly bumps into, as well as some space reserved for future updates.
In case of the 32GB model, it would be easy to fit a full install in the internal memory. In case the game ends up eventually needing more space than the basic 8 GB models had available, you could be required to get a memory card later, perhaps.
Although I'd much rather they just dropped PS2 support and released it as a downloadable title for the PS3. Of course, that will never happen.

All affirmations are true in some sense, false in some sense, meaningless in some sense, true and false in some sense, true and meaningless in some sense, false and meaningless in some sense, and true and false and meaningless in some sense.

lol. sorry I had to laugh. But where would you stick all the update and the update patches? Or would you have to then buy a patched 'disc' everytime there's a patch? Or just install everything on the console's memory and just not run any other game???
I rather they not look into any more new platform and instead fix all the things that are already been identified and fix and/or release. Making macros that have more than 6 lines WORK on PS2/XBOX so everyone can have that. And much much more.
And how much will an Wii certified external HDD cost??? And you can't be serious about running a game off an USB external HDD. I understands that everything can be loaded onto the internal memory and all that at the start of each start of the game and all that but anyone seriously wants to do the whole PS2 way of things AGAIN???
If an online ff mmo should go to the wii U, it would likely be A Realm Reborn. Imo, Seekers of Adoulin will have one last chance to impress me in this game.
"Tonight on the Vana'diel Report, a poor innocent player lost a valuable 10-15 seconds of their lives by reading Antanias's signature."
It would be far, far more than capable of running the game (the specs are plenty good enough for FFXIV), but I find it extremely unlikely that the game is going to be added to any new platforms beyond what it has now.
As far as storage, note also that you can use external storage (the only problem is you're required to format the drive for the specific console, and can't then use it with a PC or any other wii U console without reformatting.
